Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Copper Clay Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" of pussy willows branches on light brown background design from Nests Of Winter 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, cut so the branches are vertical on the horizontal rectangle
- 4" square from Basic White Cardstock
- 3-1/2" x 5" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 3-1/4" from Copper Clay Cardstock
- 1" x 6" from Shaded Spruce Cardstock
- 1" x 4" from Copper Clay Cardstock
- 1" x 4: from Basic White Cardstock
Adhere the 4" square of white cardstock to the center of the horizontal pussy willows branches Nests Of Winter Designer Paper so the top and bottom edges are even.
Adhere the layered designer paper/cardstock to the front of the Copper Clay card.
Pick out both solid, single pine bough dies from the Winterly Tree Tops Dies. Put them on top of the Shaded Spruce strip on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine leaving room to cut out a third pine bough. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces. Cut a third pine bough from the remainder of the Shaded Spruce strip.
Pick out the solid, single pussy willow branch die from the Winterly Tree Tops Dies. Put it on top of one end of the Copper Clay strip on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine leaving room to cut out a second branch. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces. Cut out a second branch.
Mount the leafy swag image from the Winterly Tree Tops Set on Block E. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it twice on the 3-1/2" x 5" white rectangle leaving room between the images so you can cut them out. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time.
Pick out the matching swag die from the Winterly Tree Tops Dies. Put it on top of one of the stamped swag images on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine. Repeat with the other image.
Tip: I find it better to cut out images before coloring them. That way, if the die slips you haven't wasted time and ink coloring the image.
Mount the pussy willows branch image from the Winterly Tree Tops Set back on Block B. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it two times on the remaining white strip leaving room to cut everything out. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time.
Pick out the matching, open pussy willows branch from the Winterly Tree Tops Dies. Put it on top of one of the pussy willows branch images on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine. Cut out the remaining pussy willows branch image.
Tip: I find it better to cut out images before coloring them. That way, if the die slips you haven't wasted time and ink coloring the image.
Place the leafy swag cut outs and the pussy willows branch cut outs on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Dark and Light Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends to color in the berries on the leafy swags.
Use the Dark and Light Shaded Spruce Stampin' Blends to color in the fuller leaves on the leafy swags.
Use the Natural Tones Medium Stampin' Blends to color in the thinner leaves on the leafy swags.
Use the Natural Tones Medium Light Stampin' Blends to color in the pussy willows branches.
Wrap some Copper Clay thread from the Natural Tones Line Thread around the center of one of the colored leafy swag cut outs and tie in place with a small bow. Make sure the ends of the swag are pointing down. Trim the ends of the thread so you have fairly long tails.
Mount the "sending thanks & much love" sentiment from the Winterly Tree Tops Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the horizontal Copper Clay strip near one side or the other leaving room to punch the sentiment out.
Unlock the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch. Hold the punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the stamped sentiment into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the two swags cut outs and the sentiment punch out on the card front so they are centered on the white square. Make sure the swag with the bow tied on it is at the top. One at a time, adhere the pieces in place. Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the top swag with the bow and the sentiment punch out.
Cut one of the Copper Clay pussy willows branches a part using Paper Snips Scissors so you have two pieces.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay all the pussy willow branches and pine boughs on the card front to figure out spacing and placement so they are sticking out from behind the top swag. When happy with the arrangement, adhere the pieces in place one at a time using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
