Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- 4-1/4" x 8-1/2" from Evening Evergreen Cardstock, scored at 1/2", 1-1/2", 3", 4", and 7" when one long edge is along the top of the Paper Trimmer
- 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" from Evening Evergreen Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 4-/14" from Evening Evergreen Cardstock, scored at 1/2" and 1-1/2" when one long edge is along the top of the Paper Trimmer
- 4" x 5-1/4" of multi-colored jungle leaves on white background design from In The Wild 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, cut so the leaves are vertical on the vertical rectangle
- 1-1/4" x 4" of light orange on dark orange geometric design from In The Wild 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, cut so the long, straight lines are horizontal on the horizontal strip
- 2-1/4" x 2-1/2" of small white flowers and light green leaves on dark green background design from In The Wild 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, cut so the flowers are vertical on the vertical rectangle
- 2-1/2" x 3" from Crushed Curry Cardstock
- 2-1/4" square from Soft Succulent Cardstock
- 1" x 3-1/2" from Evening Evergreen Cardstock
- 1/2" x 2-3/4" from Soft Succulent Cardstock
Fold the long Evening Evergreen rectangle on the 1/2", 1-1/2", 3", and 4" score lines so they are all valley folds. Fold the 7" score line so it is a mountain fold.
Adhere the large jungle leaves piece of In The Wild Designer Paper to the large flat area on the long Evening Evergreen piece.
Flip the Evening Evergreen rectangle over. Put a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive across the 1/2" flap on the Evening Evergreen piece.
Flip the Evening Evergreen piece back over so you can see the designer paper. Remove the protective backing from the strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive and adhere it to the designer paper/Evening Evergreen layer about 1-1/2" from the bottom. This will make a rectangle at the bottom of the piece that stands out from the rest. Make sure the piece will fold down flat though.
Adhere the orange geometric design piece of In The Wild Designer Paper to the front of the rectangle formed by the folded cardstock.
Fold the small Evening Evergreen piece on all score lines so they are all mountain folds.
With the scored, folded lines at the top, adhere the flowers and leaves rectangle of In The Wild Designer Paper to the large flat area of the small Evening Evergreen piece.
Put a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the back of the small Evening Evergreen piece along the bottom (with the scored, folded lines at the top). Remove the protective backing and adhere the bottom of the small Evening Evergreen piece to the front of the rectangle formed by the cardstock so the left and bottom edges are lined up with the left and bottom edges of the designer paper on the rectangle.
Put a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the top of the top 1/2" flap. Remove the protective backing and adhere the flap to the designer paper/large Evening Evergreen rectangle about 2-3/4" from the bottom. This will make another smaller rectangle just above the bottom rectangle that stands out from the back. Make sure the piece will fold down flat though.
Put strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the inside of the small flap at the top of the large Evening Evergreen piece with designer papers and step pieces attached. Remove the protective backings. Adhere the 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" Evening Evergreen rectangle to make the back of the card.
Unlock the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the thin Soft Succulent strip into the right side of the punch (the side of the punch with the flatter top) as far as it will go and get it centered. Punch.
As you are ready to stamp using the Wild Cats Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "hello" sentiment from the Wild Cats Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Evening Evergreen Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the punched Soft Succulent strip about 1/2" from the right edge with the punched end of the strip on the right.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut the left end of the punched and stamped sentiment strip off so the whole strip is about 2-1/4" long.
Adhere the punched, stamped, and cut sentiment strip to the card front so the left end just overlaps the top step piece and the right end is about 3/8" from the right edge of the card and it is near the top of the bottom step.
Mount the solid sitting cat image from the Wild Cats Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Cajun Craze Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Crushed Curry rectangle.
Mount the cat stripes image from the Wild Cats Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Jet Black StazOn Ink Pad or Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the previously stamped cat image.
Mount the cat head with stripes image from the Wild Cats Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Jet Black StazOn Ink Pad or Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the previously stamped cat image lining up the ears and nose.
Pick out the large, open, sitting cat die from the Big Cats Dies. Put it on top of the stamped cat image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the cat image. Run through the machine.
Adhere the tiger cat cut out to the front of the card so it overlaps the top and left ends of the sentiment punch out a bit and sticks over the top right edge of the upper step. Be careful NOT to get adhesive over the edge of the step or the card will be stuck shut.
Pick out the set of three skinny, intertwined leaf fronds die and the small, spiky succulent die from the Big Cats Dies. Put them on top of the Evening Evergreen strip on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the machine. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen on the bottom only of the back of the three skinny, intertwined leaf fronds cut out and adhere it to the front of the card so it is just to the left of the tiger cut out and the tops of the fronds stick up over the top edge of the top step a bit. Make sure NO adhesive covers over the top of the step or the card will be sealed shut.
Mount the large, leafy plant image from the Wild Cats Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Soft Succulent Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Soft Succulent square.
Pick out the matching, large, leafy plant die from the Big Cats Dies. Put it on top of the stamped plant image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the image is centered in the die. Run through the machine.
Adhere the leafy plant cut out to the front of the card so it overlaps the bottom of the three leafy fronds cut out, the bottom left side of the tiger cut out, and the left end of the sentiment strip.
Use a Mini Glue Dot or Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the small, spiky succulent plant cut out to the front of the card so it overlaps the bottom right edge of the large leafy plant cut out.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Soft Succulent 3/8" Open Weave Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the front of the card at the base of the plant cut outs.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a large Pale Papaya jewel from a sheet of 2021-2023 In Color Jewels making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the card front on the right end of the sentiment strip.
