C ongratulations card with a fun fold using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- 5-1/2" x 8-1/4" from Just Jade Cardstock and scored at 2" and 6-1/4"
- 2 pieces each 1-3/4" x 5-1/4" from one of the designs in the Whale Of A Time 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper, cut so the design is vertical on the vertical strips
- 2 pieces each 2-3/4" square from Just Jade Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 3/4" x 4" from one of the designs in the Whale Of A Time 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper
Fold the card base on the score lines so both flaps fold in towards the center of the card.
Adhere the two larger, vertical strips of Whale Of A Time Designer Paper to the front of the two panels on the sides of the card.
As you are ready to stamp using the Whale Done Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the large seaweed fronds image from the Whale Done Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Pretty Peacock Ink Pad. Stamp it in the bottom left corner of the large, vertical white rectangle so the bottoms of the seaweed fronds are about 1/4" from the bottom of the cardstock. Stamp the image again WITHOUT RE-INKING slightly below and to the right of the first image.
Mount the sentiment of choice from the Whale Done Set on an appropriate size block. Ink up the sentiment with the Pretty Peacock Ink Pad. Stamp the sentiment in the center of the large, vertical white rectangle about 1-1/4" from the top.
Mount the group of little fish image from the Whale Done Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Just Jade Ink Pad. Stamp it just below and to the right side of the stamped sentiment. WITHOUT RE-INKING, stamp the image again along the top left side of the sentiment.
Adhere the thin strip of Whale Of A Time Designer Paper to the bottom edge of the stamped white rectangle so it is about 1/8" from the bottom.
Adhere the stamped white rectangle with designer paper attached to the inside of the card base.
Mount the "You're kind of a Big Deal" sentiment from the Whale Done Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Pretty Peacock Ink Pad. Stamp it in the upper right corner of one of the squares of Just Jade Cardstock. Leave room to cut the sentiment out in the next step.
Pick out the smooth circle die that cuts out a smooth circle that is 2-3/8" diameter from the Layering Circles Dies. Put it on top of the sentiment stamped square on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the sentiment is in the upper right. Run through the tool. Leave the die out.
Put the smooth circle die on top of the other Just Jade square on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool.
Use a 2" strip cut from the Foam Adhesive Strips to adhere the two circles together in the center vertically. Make sure the sentiment is straight up on the top circle.
Mount the whale image from the Whale Done Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Pretty Peacock Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the white strip.
Unlock the Whale Builder Punch. Hold it upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the stamped whale image into the punch and get it centered in the corresponding punching area. Punch.
Put Stampin' Seal on the back of the whale punch out along the top edges only. Adhere the whale punch out to the front of the layered circles so it is under the sentiment on the front circle. Make sure no adhesive is exposed.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up one of each size of rhinestone from a sheet of Rhinestone Basic Jewels making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the front of the layered circles above the head of the whale as bubbles.
To close the card, fold the front flaps closed. Carefully slide the layered circles over the top edges of the front flaps so they are on either side of the Foam Adhesive Strip piece holding the circles together. Slide the circles down to cover the sentiment stamped on the inside of the card.
