G reat masculine birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut card stock pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Very Vanilla Thick Card Stock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Tip Top Taupe Card Stock
- 3-1/4" x 3-3/4" from Very Vanilla Card Stock
- 1" x 5" from Tip Top Taupe Card Stock
Place the large Tip Top Taupe rectangle into the Seaside Embossing Folder so the wavy lines are running horizontally across the card stock. Place the folder with the card stock inside on top of a Cutting Pad on your Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place another Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
Place the vanilla rectangle in front of you so one 3-1/4" side is across the bottom. Mount the goose image from the Wetlands Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Basic Black Archival Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the vanilla rectangle so it is about 1-1/8" inch up from the bottom.
Re-ink the stamp and stamp it on a Post-It Note so that you will get some of the sticky back of the Post-It Note when you cut out the goose image.
Cut out the goose image by hand just inside the outer lines. You can cut the legs off.
Place the Post-It Note goose over the stamped goose on the vanilla rectangle.
Mount the stems of grass image on Block D. Ink it up with the Tip Top Taupe Ink Pad. Stamp it on either side of the goose image. Remember to re-ink it each time.
Peel off the Post-It Note goose image. It should look as if the goose is standing in front of some of the grass stems.
Use the Tip Top Taupe Marker to color in the bird's beak and chin strap and to add small streaks of to his feathers.
Adhere a strip of the Crumb Cake diamond pattern Tasty Treats Designer Washi Tape to the top of the stamped Very Vanilla rectangle.
Adhere the Very Vanilla rectangle to the right side of the dry embossed Tip Top Taupe rectangle. Make sure the top of the vanilla rectangle is flush with the top of the Tip Top Taupe layer and about 1/4" in from the right side.
Unlock the Banner Triple Punch. Slide the long strip of Tip Top Taupe Card Stock into the punch as far as it will go. Punch.
Without adhering, lay the punched strip across the card front so it covers the bottom of the stamped grass and goose images and the notched end sticks off the left side of the vanilla layer about 3/4". Don't worry if some of the strip sticks off on the right side.
Mount the sentiment of choice on Block B. Ink it up with the Basic Black Archival Ink Pad. Stamp it on the Tip Top Taupe strip so it will be centered under the goose image.
Cut a 2" piece of Tip Top Taupe 5/8" Mini Striped Ribbon. Fold the ribbon in half lengthwise. Cut at an angle towards the fold. Unfold the ribbon and you should have a notched end.
Put SNAIL on the back of the stamped Tip Top Taupe strip near the notched end. Adhere the ribbon to the strip so the notched end of the ribbon sticks out from behind the notched strip by about 1/2".
Put more SNAIL on the back of the strip and ribbon and adhere them to the card front so the sentiment is centered below the goose and about 1/8" of vanilla card stock shows below the strip. Trim off excess card stock on the right side of the card front if needed.
Adhere the card front to the front of the Very Vanilla Thick card.
Pick out one of the smallest buttons from the Classy Designer Buttons. Adhere it to the washi tape on the left side of the vanilla layer using a Mini Glue Dot.
