Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, designer paper, and Adhesive Sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Tahitian Tide Cardstock at 4-1/4" x 11" and scored at 2-3/4" and 5-1/2"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Pacific Point Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 4" of one of the wood patterns from the Heart & Home 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 3-1/4" square from Basic Gray Cardstock
- 3-1/4" square from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 3" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 2" from Basic Gray Cardstock
- 1-3/8" x 1-7/8" from Adhesive Sheets
Fold the Tahitian Tide card base on the score lines to create a z-fold card with the shorter panel on the left side.
Mount one of the shorter sentiments of choice from the Waves Of Inspiration Set on an appropriate size block. Ink it up with the Pacific Point Ink Pad. Stamp it on the bottom of the vertical Heart & Home Designer Paper rectangle so it is centered side to side and is as close to the bottom edge as possible.
Adhere the stamped designer paper rectangle to the center of the small front flap on the left side of the card front.
Carefully remove a magnet from the back of the Stamparatus.
Tip: To make it easier to grab the magnets and to help keep them from breaking if they snap together, wrap them in strips of washi tape or masking tape leaving folded over pieces to grab on to.
Place the Stamparatus in front of you with the open sides of the Stamparatus on the left and bottom. Insert one hinged plate into the Stamparatus on the right side so it is in the topmost hinge space. Put the Stamparatus Foam Mat on the base of the Stamparatus. Put a piece of Small Grid Paper on the base of the Stamparatus so the inch rulers are on the right and bottom edges.
Place the 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" white rectangle on the base of the Stamparatus so the cardstock is horizontal and the top edge is along the top edge of the Stamparatus base and the right edge is along the line on the right just to the left side of the ruler markings. Place the magnet in the top right corner to hold the cardstock in place.
Pick out the large wave image from the Waves Of Inspiration Set. Place the stamp rubber side down on the cardstock on the Stamparatus base so that it is centered across the bottom of the white rectangle side to side and the bottom of the stamp just goes off the bottom of the cardstock rectangle. Close the plate on the Stamparatus and press firmly so the stamp sticks to the plate. Open the plate.
Ink up the stamp on the plate using the Tahitian Tide Ink Pad. If you get excess ink on the plate, you can wipe it off with a baby wipe or tissue or the Simply Shammy. Close the plate onto the cardstock on the Stamparatus base and press down firmly. Open the plate.
Tip: Slide a Clear-Mount Stamp Case under the plate before inking up the stamp. This gives you a firm, flat surface to push against making it easier to ink up the stamp.
Tip: If you have a Tahitian Tide Stampin' Spot on hand, use it to ink up the stamp instead of a full sized ink pad. It will give you more control and will help keep stray ink from getting on the plate.
Clean the stamp off using the Simply Shammy, but leave it on the plate.
Move the magnet off the stamped cardstock. Move the cardstock down a tiny, tiny bit and to the left a tiny, tiny bit. Put the magnet back on the upper right corner of the cardstock.
Ink up the stamp on the plate again using the Pacific Point Ink Pad this time. If you get excess ink on the plate, you can wipe it off with a baby wipe or tissue or the Simply Shammy. Close the plate onto the cardstock on the Stamparatus base and press down firmly. Open the plate.

Remove the magnet and the cardstock.
Place the 3-1/4" white square on the base of the Stamparatus so the top of the cardstock is on the 1" horizontal line on the Small Grid Paper and the right edge of the cardstock is on the 5-3/4" vertical line on the Small Grid Paper. Put the magnet across the upper right corner to hold the cardstock in place.

Remove the magnet and the cardstock.
Adhere the large white stamped rectangle to the center of the Pacific Point rectangle and then to the inside of the big back flap of the card.
Pick out the circle die that cuts out a 3" circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies. Put it on top of the Basic Gray square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Pick out the circle die that cuts out a 2-9/16" circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies. Put it on top of the wave stamped white square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the wave crest is centered in the die. Run through the machine.
Adhere the wave circle cut out to the center of the Basic Gray circle cut out.
Mount the pelican on pylons image from the Waves Of Inspiration Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Basic Gray Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 1-1/4" x 3" vertical white strip.
Pick out the matching pelican on pylons die from the Waves Dies. Put it on top of the stamped pelican on pylons image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Put the pelican on pylons cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Light (SU900 and SU1000) Natural Tones Stampin' Blends to color in the pelican's beak and legs.
Use the Medium (SU500 and SU600) Natural Tones Stampin' Blends to color in the pelican's body.
Leave the pelican's head and neck white.
Use the Medium Deep SU300 Natural Tones Stampin' Blends to color in the rope on the taller pylon.
Use the Smoky Slate, Medium, and Medium Deep Stampin' Blends Markers to color in the pylons.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off any excess white cardstock at the base of the colored pylons cut out.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the matted wave circle on the front of the closed card. Then, WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the colored pelican on pylons cut out on the right side of the matted circles to figure out spacing and placement.
When happy with the placement, put adhesive on the back of the pelican and the top of the pylons cut out to adhere it in place to the right side of the matted circles. Make sure NO adhesive goes over the right or bottom edge of the matted circles or your card won't open.
Put strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive vertically on the back of the matted circles on the opposite side from the pelican on pylons cut out. Remove the protective backings and adhere the matted circles to the small, left front flap of the closed card. Make sure NO adhesive goes over the fold line or your card won't open.
Peel the protective backing off of the Adhesive Sheets rectangle. Adhere the Adhesive Sheets rectangle to one side of the small Basic Gray rectangle. Be sure to leave the other protective backing in place for now.
Pick out the set of two flying bird silhouettes die from the Waves Dies. Put it on top of the Basic Gray rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine near one edge so the Basic Gray side is face up. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces. Put the die back on the other side of the Basic Gray rectangle and run through again. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
One at a time, carefully remove the protective backings from three of the flying bird silhouette cut outs and adhere them to the front of the card as shown. Keep the other bird silhouette for use on another project.
