Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, designer paper, and Adhesive Sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Parakeet Party Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1" x 5-1/2" of tiny flowers and leaves Parakeet Party design from 2022-2024 In Color 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Assortment
- 3-1/4" x 4-1/4" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 2" x 3-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 2" from Basic White Cardstock
- 3/4" x 2-3/4" from Soft Suede Cardstock
- 5/8" x 2-5/8" from Adhesive Sheets
Rub the open Crumb Cake Ink Pad across the inside of the front flap of the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder. The front flap is the one with the logo and line printed on it.
Insert the 4" x 5-1/4" Basic White rectangle into the inky embossing folder so the bricks will be horizontal on the horizontal rectangle. Use the line printed on the front flap of the folder to make sure it is lined up straight. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Tip: Clean the embossing folder when done by running it under water until no more color is coming off. Allow to air dry.
As you are ready to stamp using the Warm Welcome Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Ink up the open door and frame image from the Warm Welcome Set mounted on Block D using the Soft Suede Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 3-1/4" x 4-1/4" Crumb Cake rectangle.
Pick out the open, large, open door and frame die from the Warm Welcome Dies. Put it on top of the stamped open door and frame image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Pick out the large, open rectangle die from the Warm Welcome Dies. Put it on top of the opening in the frame portion of the previously cut out open door and frame image so it is centered. Run through the machine. Leave the die out.
Note: Keep all the pieces. You can use the rectangle of Crumb Cake cut out of the open door in later steps.
Put the large, open rectangle die on top of the 2" x 3-1/2" piece of white cardstock. Run through the machine.
Mount the "yay!" sentiment from the Warm Welcome Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Parakeet Party Ink Pad. Stamp the sentiment in the center of the vertical white rectangle cut out about 3/4" from the interior bottom.
Mount the hand holding a bouquet image from the Warm Welcome Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Soft Suede Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the remaining small small white rectangle.
Pick out the matching hand holding a bouquet die from the Warm Welcome Dies. Put it on top of the stamped image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Tip: I prefer to cut before coloring so that if the die slips I haven't wasted time coloring the image.
Use the Stampin' Write Markers to color in the hand holding a bouquet cut out:
- use the Parakeet Party Stampin' Write Marker to color in the leaves and lightly outline all the stems and color in the second and sixth stripe on the sleeve
- use the Sweet Sorbet Stampin' Write Marker to color in 5 flowers and the first, third, fifth, and last stripe on the sleeve
- use the Orchid Oasis Stampin' Write Marker to color in the remaining 3 flowers and the remaining stripe in the middle of the sleeve
- use the Petal Pink Stampin' Write Marker to color in the hand
Adhere the colored bouquet and hand cut out to the center of the stamped vertical white rectangle so the bottom of the bouquet is just above the center of the word and the end of the sleeve is even with the right edge of the white rectangle. Use Paper Snips Scissors if needed to cut off excess sleeve.
Use Stampin' Seal and Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the open door and frame cut out to the left side of the dry embossed, horizontal brick rectangle so it is about 1/4" from the left edge and is centered top to bottom.
Adhere the stamped white rectangle with the bouquet and arm image attached to the inside of the open area of the door.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut a fringe along one long edge of the designer paper strip. Make sure NOT to cut all the way through the strip, but leave about 1/4" along the bottom long edge of the strip uncut.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut a wavy line across the top of the fringed designer paper strip to make grass that is only about 1/2" tall at the most.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen on the 1/4" solid strip along the bottom of the fringed designer paper strip to adhere it to the bottom of brick rectangle so the bottom is even with the bottom of the rectangle. Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off any excess on the left and right edges.
Adhere the brick rectangle with door frame, door opening, and grass attached to the front of the Parakeet Party card.
Mount the cat image from the Warm Welcome Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Soft Suede Ink Pad. Stamp it near one end of the horizontal Crumb Cake rectangle that you saved after cutting it out of the door frame.
Pick out the matching cat die and the large, solid sign die from the Warm Welcome Dies. Put them on top of the Crumb Cake rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the cat die is centered over the cat image and the sign die is off to the side. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces if needed.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the cat cut out to the front of the card so it is tucked into the top of the grass on the far right side of the card.
Adhere the large sign to the front of the card so it is centered between the right edge of the door frame the right edge of the brick rectangle and is about 1-1/8" from the top of the card.
Peel the protective backing off of the Adhesive Sheets strip. Adhere the Adhesive Sheets strip to one side of the thin Soft Suede strip. Be sure to leave the other protective backing in place for now.
Pick out the line of numbers die from the Warm Welcome Dies. Put it on top of the Soft Suede strip on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the Soft Suede (brown) side is face up. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the numbers you want to use on the sign on the card front to figure out spacing and placement. When happy, carefully remove the protective backings from the numbers one at a time and adhere them in place.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up one large Starry Sky flower and two large Orchid Oasis flowers from a sheet of Fun Flowers Resin Shapes making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them over the tops of the Orchid Oasis colored flowers on the bouquet.
