C ute new baby card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Soft Succulent Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Balmy Blue Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 5-1/4" of light green gingham check design from Pansy Petals 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 2-1/8" square from Soft Succulent Cardstock
- 2" square from Basic White Cardstock
As you are ready to stamp using the Turtle Friends Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the set of three little hearts image from the Turtle Friends Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Balmy Blue Ink Pad. Stamp it all over the top 1-1/4" of the horizontal Balmy Blue rectangle. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Let some of the images go off the edges. Vary the angle of the image every so often,
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the strip of Pansy Petals Designer Paper across the stamped horizontal Balmy Blue rectangle 1" from the top edge.
Mount the "hello, little one" or "forever friends" sentiment from the Turtle Friends Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Balmy Blue Ink Pad. Stamp it just below the designer paper strip about 1-1/2" from the right edge.
When happy with the stamping, adhere the piece of designer paper in place.
Cut a 6" piece of the Soft Succulent 3/8" Open Weave Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the stamped Balmy Blue/designer paper rectangle so it covers the bottom seam between the two pieces. Flip the cardstock over and fold the ends of the ribbon over. Adhere the ends of the ribbon in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the Balmy Blue rectangle. Adhere it to the front of the Soft Succulent card.
One at a time, slide one corner of each of the squares of Soft Succulent and Basic White into the angle of the Detailed Trio Punch that corner rounds. Use the guides on the base of the punch to line up the corner in the punch. Press down firmly on the center of the punch to punch. Repeat until you have corner rounded all 4 corners on both squares.
Mount the small sleepy turtle image from the Turtle Friends Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Soft Succulent Ink Pad. Stamp it just below center in the center of the corner-rounded white square.
Mount the small turtle shell image from the Turtle Friends Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Balmy Blue Ink Pad. Stamp it inside the previously stamped turtle's shell.
Mount the small bird image from the Turtle Friends Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Balmy Blue Ink Pad. Stamp it on the top of the previously stamped turtle's back.
Mount the small grass image from the Turtle Friends Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Soft Succulent Ink Pad. Stamp it under the previously stamped turtle's feet.
Put the stamped white square on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Dark Soft Succulent Stampin' Blends to color in the turtle's nails, tail, and spaces around the shell pattern on his back. Also use it to outline his eye.
Use the Light Soft Succulent Stampin' Blends to color in the rest of the turtle and the grass.
Adhere the stamped and colored corner rounded white square to the center of the corner rounded Soft Succulent square.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the matted squares to the front of the card so they are centered over the ribbon and designer paper just to the left of the stamped sentiment.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Soft Succulent 3/8" Open Weave Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the front of the card at a slight angle at the bottom right corner of the matted squares.
