Q uick and easy Halloween candy boxes using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and specialty paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- 5-1/4" x 6" of Orchid Oasis Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 1-1/2" from Glow-In-The-Dark 6" x 6" Specialty Paper
As you are ready to stamp using the Tricks & Treats Set, place the cardstock or specialty paper on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the "EEK!" sentiment from the Tricks & Treats Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Starry Sky Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Glow-In-The-Dark strip. Set aside to allow to dry.
Pick out the box die from the Cracker & Treat Box Dies. Put it on top of the Orchid Oasis cardstock on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Mount the grouping of stars, grouping of bats, or small ghost image from the Tricks & Treats Set on Block A or the group of tombstones image from the Tricks & Treats Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Starry Sky Ink Pad. Stamp it randomly all over the cut out box piece. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Change the orientation of the stamp a little each time. Let some of the images go off the edges of the box.
Use the Bone Folder to fold on the long score lines.
Put strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive horizontally across one of the long, horizontal rectangles in the center of the box cut out along one edge.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape and adhere the two edge pieces together to make a cylindrical box. Press firmly along the pieces to make sure the adhesive holds.
Pinch the ends together on one end of the box. Tie them closed using a piece of Orchid Oasis 1/8" Metallic Woven Ribbon.
Fill the box with treats.
Pinch the ends together on the open end of the box. Tie them closed using another piece of Orchid Oasis 1/8" Metallic Woven Ribbon.
Pick out the small, rectangular tag die from the Cracker & Treat Box Dies. Put it on top of the stamped "EEK!" sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the sentiment and the top of the tag is on the left side. Run through the machine.
Make sure that the images on the box are right side up. Use a floss threader if needed to help you get one end of the ribbon on the left side of the box through the hole in the tag without having it unravel. Tie in place with a half knot. Trim the ends of the ribbon.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up glow-in-the-dark bats or ghosts as desired from the sheet of Glow-In-The-Dark Bats & Ghosts making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the front of the box as desired.
