V intage style Christmas card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Crumb Cake Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 2" x 5-1/4" of green toile design from Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper
- 1/4" x 5-1/4" from Garden Green Cardstock
- 3-1/4" x 4" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 3-1/2" from Real Red Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 3-1/4" of green stripes design from Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper, cut so the stripes are vertical on the horizontal rectangle
Mount the holly branch image from the Toile Christmas Set on Block E. Use the brush tips of the Markers to color directly onto the rubber stamp as follows:
- Crumb Cake for the branch and twigs
- Garden Green for the leaves
- Cherry Cobbler for the berries
Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink and stamp onto the large vanilla rectangle so the berries and leaves are in the upper right corner with the end of the branch on the left side. Repeat two more times inking up the stamp with the markers, breathing on the stamp, and stamping so the berries and leaves are on the right side of the vanilla rectangle with the end of the branches on the left side.
Adhere the long, wide strip of toile design Toile Tidings Designer Paper to the left side of the stamped vanilla rectangle.
Use a Fine-Tip Glue Pen or Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the thin strip of Garden Green Cardstock to the stamped vanilla/designer paper rectangle so it hides the seam between the two layers.
Adhere the stamped vanilla/designer paper rectangle to the front of the Crumb Cake card.
Mount the "Christmas Wishes" banner image on Block H. Ink it up with the Cherry Cobbler Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Real Red strip.
Pick out the matching banner die from the Christmas Cardinal Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment banner on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the sentiment banner is centered. Run through the tool.
Pick out the double banners die from the Christmas Cardinal Dies. Put it on top of the striped Toile Tidings Designer Paper rectangle on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool.
Adhere the sentiment banner cut out to the center of the designer paper double banners cut out.
Adhere the matted banner cut outs to the front of the card so they are about 1" from the bottom and about 1/2" from the left side.
Mount the cardinal image from the Toile Christmas Set on Block E. Ink it up with the Cherry Cobbler Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Crumb Cake rectangle.
Pick out the cardinal die from the Christmas Cardinal Dies. Put it on top of the stamped cardinal on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool.
Rub a Sponge Dauber across the open Real Red Ink Pad to get it inky. Then, rub it lightly onto the cardinal cut out to color in the bird. Get more ink on the Sponge Dauber as needed.
Tip: I just clean my Sponge Daubers when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the colored cardinal cut out to the front of the card so it looks like his feet are resting on the top of the sentiment banner cut out and his tail covers the right end of the sentiment banner cut out.
