T ropical themed birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Whisper White Thick Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-1/8" x 2-3/8" from So Saffron Cardstock
- 1-1/8" x 2-3/8" from Crushed Curry Cardstock
- 1-1/8" x 2-3/8" from Mint Macaron Cardstock
- 1-1/8" x 2-3/8" from Bermuda Bay Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 3-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1" x 1-3/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
Insert the 4" x 5-1/4" white rectangle into the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the paper inside on your die cutting and embossing tool and run through the machine.
Adhere the dry embossed white rectangle to the front of the Whisper White Thick card.
Pick out the shorter, fatter filigree pattern die from the Ornate Layers Dies. Put it on top of the So Saffron rectangle on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces. Repeat, one at a time, with the Crushed Curry, Mint Macaron, and Bermuda Bay rectangles.
Note: This die only cuts out the interior filigree pattern. It does NOT cut out a rectangle.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the filigree cut rectangles on the front of the card to figure out spacing so they are centered across the front of the card. One at a time, use the Fine-Tip Glue Pen or Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the rectangles in place on the front of the card.
Cut an 8-1/2" piece of Bermuda Bay 1/4" Mini Striped Ribbon.
Fold the ribbon in half. Lay the ribbon on the front of the card so it goes across the filigree rectangles on a slight diagonal with the loop being on the bottom left and the loose ends being on the upper right. Use a small piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive across the center of the ribbon to hold it in place. Leave the protective backing in place for now.
Mount the birthday, hello, or thank you sentiment from the Timeless Tropical Set on Block B or Block C. Ink it up with the Bermuda Bay Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of one end of the 1-1/2" x 3-1/4" white strip. Leave room to punch out the sentiment.
Unlock the Timeless Label Punch. Hold the punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the stamped sentiment into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape on the front of the card. Add some SNAIL to the back of the sentiment punch out. Adhere the sentiment to the front of the card so it is centered over the ribbon and filigree rectangles.
Mount the pineapple image from the Timeless Tropical Set on Block B. Use the brush tip of the So Saffron Marker to color the bottom of the pineapple. Use the brush tip of the Mint Macaron Marker to color in the spiky leaves at the top of the pineapple. Use the brush tip of the Crushed Curry Marker to lightly tap around on the bottom of the pineapple. Use the brush tip of the Bermuda Bay Marker to lightly tap around on the spiky leaves at the top of the pineapple. Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink. Stamp in the center of the remaining white strip.
Pick out the small, open, pineapple die from the In The Tropics Dies. Put it on top of the stamped pineapple image on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so it is centered over the image. Run through the tool.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the pineapple cut out to the front of the card so it overlaps the lower right side of the sentiment punch out at a slight angle.
Pick out a hibiscus flower trinket from the Tropical Oasis Trinkets.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the trinket to the front of the card on the upper left corner of the sentiment punch out.
