I f you know me, you know that Christmas cards are my favorite! I could make only Christmas cards and never get bored. And I've been playing with the new hostess set, Time Of Year, and it makes such lovely Christmas cards! I love the vintage feel it gives when paired with the poinsettia from Reason For the Season. I only inked up this set once last year, so I'm happy to see it back this year.
Project Recipe
I'm not providing full instructions for this one since it's pretty straightforward, but I want to point out a few things... However, if you have a question about anything I don't address here, just ask in the comments or email me.
1) I cut out the Christmas banner with my snips, but you don't have to! The Bunch of Banners framelits coordinate with this *and other* stamp sets. They're a great bargain!
2) The This Christmas designer series paper comes with 24 sheets! This paper is a little thinner and should be good for making envelopes and photo mats and gift bows.
3) The holly leaf and berries are a single stamp. Since these are photopolymer stamps, I didn't even bother with markers, because markers never seem to work with the photopolymer. Instead I used the washi tape technique for stamping in multiple ink colors. First I covered the berries with washi, inked up the leaves with Garden Green ink, removed the tape (very important), and stamped the leaves. Then I cleaned the stamp and then did the same to stamp the berries in Cherry Cobbler ink.
4) The poinsettia is a two-step stamp with three stamps. :) I first stamped the outlines in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Then I stamped the leaves in GG and stamped the flower in Cherry Cobbler.
All of the supplies I used for this card are available in my Stampin' Up store. Just click on the picture of an item below to buy it. Enjoy your day!
