D ecorated Sweet Cups using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut apart a Sweet Cup and cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer and Paper Snips:
- cut apart the base of one Sweet Cup to use as a template for covering the base (remove the bottom and the top rim)
- 3" x 10-1/2" from designer paper (I used How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper), make sure to cut so patterns are horizontal
- 3" square of cardstock (I used Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, and Gorgeous Grape)
- 2-3/4" square of cardstock (I used Pineapple Punch, Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, and Gorgeous Grape)
- scrap of cardstock at least 1-3/4" square (I used Pineapple Punch, Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, and Gorgeous Grape)
- scrap of Whisper White Cardstock at least 1-3/4" square
- cupcakes or gumball machines cut and trimmed by hand from a piece of How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper using Paper Snips
- jar shapes roughly cut from a piece of How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper using Paper Snips and then further cut out using the Jar of Sweets Framelits
Place the cut apart Sweet Cup base on the back side of the piece of Designer Series Paper that you want to use. If there is a pattern on the paper that needs to be oriented a certain way, make sure it is oriented properly. Trace around the edge of the cut apart Sweet Cup base as a template. Add an extra 1/2" on either end so the ends will overlap.
Use Paper Snips to cut out the designer paper by hand just inside the lines you drew. WITHOUT adhering, lightly wrap the designer paper around the base of a Sweet Cup to make sure it fits properly. Remove the designer paper.
Wrap some Tear & Tape Adhesive around the center of the Sweet Cup base. Put a piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the underside of both ends of the designer paper piece.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape strips and carefully wrap the designer paper around the Sweet Cup base starting at the seam. Adhere the ends together.
Tip: If your designer paper is a bit too wide, you can carefully trim off excess from the bottom of the Sweet Cup using Paper Snips.
Pick out the scalloped circle framelit from the Layering Circles Framelits that cuts out a 2-13/16" diameter scalloped circle. Place the 3" square of cardstock on the Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the scalloped circle framelit on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Pick out the circle framelit from the Layering Circles Framelits that cuts out a 2-3/8" diameter circle. Place the 2-3/4" square of cardstock on the Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the circle framelit on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the smaller, smooth circle cut out to the center of the scalloped circle cut out. Then, adhere the matted circles to the center of the Sweet Cup lid.
If you haven't already done so, either trim out a cupcake or gumball machine from a piece of How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper by hand using Paper Snips. Leave a small edging of white around the edges of the image.
Or, roughly trim out a jar of candy image from a piece of How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper by hand using Paper Snips. Pick out the matching jar framelit from the Jar of Sweets Framelits. Place the roughly cut out candy jar designer paper image on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the candy jar framelit on top so it is centered over the image. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals and/or Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the cut out image (cupcake, gumball machine, or jar of candy) to the center of the circles on the top of the Sweet Cup lid.
Pick out a tag from the Sweet Pins & Tags.
If you are using the large, label shaped tag from the Sweet Pins & Tags, place it on a Stampin' Pierce Mat.
Mount the outline label image from the Sweetest Thing Set on Block D. Ink it up with the color of ink you want using the Ink Pad (I used Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green, and Coastal Cabana). Stamp the label image inside the center of the label tag.
Then, mount the "Sweets for You" sentiment from the Sweetest Thing Set on Block B. Ink it up with the color of ink you want using the Ink Pad (I used Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green, and Coastal Cabana). Stamp the sentiment in the center of the label tag.
If you are making more than one Sweet Cup and using different colors of ink for the sentiment and outline label image, remember to clean the stamps each time using the Simply Shammy and/or Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub.
If you are using a square or circle shaped tag from the Sweet Pins & Tags, place the scrap of white cardstock on a Stampin' Pierce Mat.
Mount the "Sweets for You" sentiment from the Sweetest Thing Set on Block B. Ink it up with the color of ink you want using the Ink Pad (I used Pineapple Punch, Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, and Gorgeous Grape). Stamp the sentiment in the center of the scrap of white cardstock.
Unlock the 1-1/4" Circle Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped sentiment into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Unlock the 1-1/2" Circle Punch. Slide the scrap of cardstock of your choice (I used Pineapple Punch, Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, and Gorgeous Grape) into the punch. Punch.
Adhere the sentiment circle punch out to the center of the colored cardstock circle punch out and then to the center of the square or circle tag.
If you are making more than one Sweet Cup and using different colors of ink for the sentiment, remember to clean the stamp each time using the Simply Shammy and/or Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub.
Cut a 4" piece of the Coastal Cabana/Granny Apple Green 3/8" Reversible Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center. Trim the ends.
Pick out a pin from the Sweet Pins & Tags. Open the pin and slide the tag onto the pin and then stick the open end of the pin through the knot in the ribbon. Close the pin.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot with tag attached by the pin to the cupcake, gumball machine, or jar of candy cut out on the top of the lid of the Sweet Cup.
