G eneral directions for covering a Sweet Treat Cup with designer paper and a layered circle on the lid.
Project Recipe
Cut apart a Sweet Cup and cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer and Paper Snips:
- cut apart the base of one Sweet Cup to use as a template for covering the base (remove the bottom and the top rim)
- 3" x 10-1/2" from designer paper (I used How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper), make sure to cut so patterns are horizontal if needed
- 1/2" x 12" from designer paper (I used How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper)
- 3-1/4" square of cardstock (I used Basic Gray, Coastal Cabana, Gorgeous Grape, and Real Red)
- 3-1/4" square of Whisper White Cardstock
Place the cut apart Sweet Cup base on the back side of the piece of Designer Series Paper that you want to use. If there is a pattern on the paper that needs to be oriented a certain way, make sure it is oriented properly. Use a pen or pencil to trace around the edge of the cut apart Sweet Cup base as a template. Add an extra 1/2" on either end so the ends will overlap.
Use Paper Snips to cut out the designer paper by hand just inside the lines you drew. WITHOUT adhering, lightly wrap the designer paper around the base of a Sweet Cup to make sure it fits properly. Remove the designer paper.
Wrap some Tear & Tape Adhesive around the center of the Sweet Cup base. Put a piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the underside of both ends of the designer paper piece.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape strips and carefully wrap the designer paper around the Sweet Cup base starting at the seam. Adhere the ends together.
Tip: If your designer paper is a bit too wide, you can carefully trim off excess from the bottom of the Sweet Cup using Paper Snips.
Wrap some Tear & Tape Adhesive around the center of the rim of the Sweet Cup lid.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strip and carefully wrap the 1/2" x 12" strip of designer paper around the rim of the Sweet Cup lid starting at the seam. Use a small piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the loose end to adhere it in place.
Pick out the scalloped circle framelit from the Layering Circles Framelits that cuts out a 3-1/8" diameter scalloped circle. Place the 3-1/4" square of cardstock on the Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the scalloped circle framelit on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Stamp the image of choice in the center of the white square using the appropriate ink for the coloring technique you will be using.
Pick out the circle framelit from the Layering Circles Framelits that cuts out a 2-3/8" diameter circle. Place the stamped white square of cardstock on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the circle framelit on top so the image is centered as desired. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Color in the image using your preferred coloring method and inks.
Adhere the smaller, colored circle cut out to the center of the scalloped circle cut out. Then, adhere the matted circles to the center of the Sweet Cup lid.
