C ute decorated treat boxes for Valentine's Day using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- 3-1/2" x 7-1/4" of one pattern from Sweet Talk 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, if there is a directional pattern, cut so the pattern is horizontal on the horizontal rectangle
- 2-1/2" square from coordinating cardstock (I used Blushing Bride and Highland Heather)
- 1-1/2" square from Basic White Cardstock
- 1" x 1-1/4" from coordinating cardstock (I used Real Red and Highland Heather)
Fold the Sweet Little Box together using the self-adhesive strips on the edges.
Put strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the short edges of the designer paper rectangle on the back side. Also put lines of Stampin' Seal along the back side of the designer paper between the Tear & Tape strips.
Remove the protective backing from one of the strips of Tear & Tape. Adhere the short edge of the designer paper to the center of the back of the box so the top and bottom edges are even with the top and bottom edges of the box. Carefully wrap the designer paper around the box keeping the top and bottom edges lined up. Crease the paper around the corners of the box as you go. Remove the protective backing from the other strip of Tear & Tape and adhere to the back of the box.
Tip: If the designer paper has a directional design, make sure the design will be right side up with the flap of the box that opens on the top.
As you are ready to stamp using the Sweet Conversations Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top of the mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the "happy to have you in my life" sentiment from the Sweet Conversations Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Real Red Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 2-1/2" square of colored cardstock (I used Blushing Bride and Highland Heather) slightly closer to the top edge.
Pick out the tag die from the Sweet Hearts Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the bump is on the top and the sentiment is centered side to side and close to the top edge. Run through the machine.
Mount the line of three small outline hearts image from the Sweet Conversations Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Real Red Ink Pad. Stamp it along the bottom edge of the tag.
Mount the line of three small solid hearts image from the Sweet Conversations Set on Block G. Ink it up with the coordinating color of ink pad (I used Blushing Bride or Highland Heather). Stamp it along the bottom edge of the tag so the hearts are inside the previously stamped outline hearts.
Tip: If you are making multiple boxes and using different colors of ink, remember to clean your stamp between ink colors using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist and/or Simply Shammy.
Cut an 11" piece of the Real Red 3/8" Faux Linen Ribbon.
Wrap the ribbon around the top of the box. Thread the stamped tag onto one end of the ribbon. Tie the ribbon in place using a knot so the tag is on the left side of the box. Trim the ends of the ribbon.
Mount the outlined, "BFF" heart image from the Sweet Conversations Set on Block A. Ink it up with the coordinating color of ink (I used Real Red and Highland Heather Ink Pads). Stamp it in the center of the white square.
Tip: If you are making multiple boxes and using different colors of ink, remember to clean your stamp between ink colors using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist and/or Simply Shammy.
Mount the smaller, fatter solid heart image from the Sweet Conversations Set on Block A. Ink it up with the same coordinating color of ink (I used the Real Red and Highland Heather Ink Pads). Stamp off once by stamping on Grid Paper. WITHOUT RE-INKING, stamp it in the center of the previously stamped outline "BFF" heart on the white square.
Tip: If you are making multiple boxes and using different colors of ink, remember to clean your stamp between ink colors using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist and/or Simply Shammy.
Pick out the matching slightly fatter open heart die from the Sweet Hearts Dies. Put it on top of the stamped heart on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Use a Mini Stampin' Dimensionals on the right side of the back of the heart cut out at the top to adhere the heart cut out at a slight angle to the bottom right corner of the tag as shown.
Pick out the solid die with 2 small hearts stacked on top of each other from the Sweet Hearts Dies. Put it on top of the small rectangle of colored cardstock (I used Real Red and Highland Heather) on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Use the paper piercer on the Take Your Pick if needed to remove the pieces.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen or Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the two tiny heart cut outs to the front of the box as shown.
Fill the box with a treat and give away!
