B irthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Garden Green Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Coastal Cabana Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" of light blue batik diamonds pattern on dark green background design from Enjoy The Journey 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, cut so the lines in the pattern are horizontal on the horizontal rectangle
- 3" x 4" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 1-1/2" square from Coastal Cabana Cardstock
- 1/2" x 3-1/2" from Coastal Cabana Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 4" from Coastal Cabana Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 4" of small white hexagons on light blue-green background design from Dandy Designs 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
Adhere the large piece of Enjoy The Journey Designer Paper to the center of the 4" x 5-1/4" Coastal Cabana rectangle and then to the front of the Garden Green card.
Adhere the piece of Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper to the 1-1/2" x 4" piece of Coastal Cabana Cardstock.
Pick out the large die that cuts out the box from the Cracker & Treat Box Dies. Put it on top of the designer paper/cardstock rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the designer paper side is face up and one of the lines of diamond shapes is centered over the paper. Run through the machine.
Adhere three of the diamond-shaped designer paper/cardstock cut outs to the front of the card in the lower right corner in a straight line as shown.
Tip: Use the diamond shapes printed on the designer paper to help you line up the cut outs.
Unlock the Banners Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the long, skinny Coastal Cabana strip into the right side of the punch (the side of the punch with the inward notch) as far as it will go and get it centered. Punch.
As you are ready to stamp using the Sweet Citrus Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the "Have a zesty birthday!" sentiment from the Sweet Citrus Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Garden Green Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the punched Coastal Cabana strip so it is closer to the right edge with the notch on the right side.
Adhere the punched sentiment strip to the front of the card so it is centered over the diamond-shaped cut outs with the punched notch side just sticking over the right edge of the rightmost diamond-shaped cut out.
Mount the image which is all connected together and has 2 outline citrus fruits, one outline citrus slice, and one solid lemon/lime shape from the Sweet Citrus Set on Block E. Ink it up with the Pumpkin Pie Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Very Vanilla rectangle so you get the outlined fruits. Don't worry if the solid lemon/lime image doesn't get fully stamped, you aren't using it on this card.
Mount the image which is all connected together and has 2 full citrus fruit centers and one citrus slice center from the Sweet Citrus Set on Block E. Ink it up with the Mango Melody Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the previously stamped outline citrus fruits on the Very Vanilla rectangle.
Mount the tiny, single dot image from the Sweet Citrus Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Mango Melody Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the previously stamped citrus fruit images on the Very Vanilla rectangle remembering to re-ink the image each time.
Pick out the matching set of 4 citrus fruits die from the Sweet Citrus Hybrid Embossing Folder. Put it inside the Embossing Folder from the Sweet Citrus Hybrid Emboss Folder so it fits into the grooves around the corresponding citrus fruits cut into the inside of the top flap (the one with the line and logo printed on it) of the Embossing Folder. Place the stamped vanilla cardstock into the layered dies/embossing Folder so they are centered in the dies. Close the folder and put it on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. This will cut out and emboss the citrus images at the same time.
WITHOUT ADHERING, place the cut out and dry embossed citrus fruit images on the front of the card so they overlap each other and the left end of the sentiment strip as shown to figure out placement and spacing. Once happy with the layout, adhere the pieces in place one at a time. Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the slice cut out in place.
Mount the set of two leaves image from the Sweet Citrus Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Garden Green Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Coastal Cabana square.
Pick out one of the matching set of 2 leaves dies from the Sweet Citrus Hybrid Embossing Folder. Put it on top of the stamped leaves on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Adhere the leaves cut out to the front of the card so the leaves stick out at a slight angle from the top of the pile of citrus pieces as shown.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 3 different size Balmy Blue sequins from the sheet of Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins making sure you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them in a rough triangle in the top right corner of the card front as shown.
