T his card uses a fun fold, some coloring and some fussy cutting to take the "Just for Hosts" Summer Days stamp set to next level!
Project Recipe
Cut Card base 6 3/4" x 5 1/2". Score and fold at 2 1/2". Cut 2 pieces of whisper white card stock 3 3/8" x 4 3/4". Cut a strip of Designer Series paper 5 1/2" x 1" and a piece of coordinating solid color paper 5 1/2" x 2 1/4". To stamp and fussy cut the leaf images, have a scrap of your colored paper, or a coordinating color handy. You will also need a small piece of white paper to stamp and cut/punch your sentiment (see image).
You will need one or two ink pads that coordinate, as well as black ink to stamp your images. If you wish to color your images you will need colored pencils, or Stampin' Blends markers.
You will use dimensionals as well as tape adhesive and a coordinating ribbon.
You will use a large die to cut one piece of Whisper White cardstock creating a "frame" to use as a mask- I used a large rectangle from the Stitched Rectangles die set.
Layer the "frame" (mask) over the second piece of Whisper White cardstock and secure with Washi tape or sticky notes to hold in place.
Check out my Summer Days Stepped Up card instructions for images of this technique if needed.
Using the ink(s) you have chosen, sponge inside the large shape blending from the edges into the middle. This technique works best if you "Stamp off" before beginning to apply the ink so you get a softer color and effect.
Once you have completely filled in the area, remove frame/mask.
Stamp images you have chosen in the center of the inked area and color with colored pencils or Stampin' blends.
Stamp leaf images on colored paper scrap and fussy cut.
Stamp sentiment on Whisper White and cut or punch out.
Tie ribbon into bow.
Assemble the card by adhering the strip of Designer Series paper to the edge of the large end of the card base. Fold card and adhere coordinating colored paper strip to the top edge of the short end of the card base. Adhere the piece of Whisper White paper with your stamped images on top of the strip of colored paper so that it overlaps the Designer series paper strip
(see image).
Adhere the sentiment with dimensionals and decorate with leaves and ribbon.
