L ovely Christmas card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Poppy Parade Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Pear Pizzazz Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Blushing Bride Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 5-1/8" from Pear Pizzazz Cardstock
- 3 pieces each 2-1/2" x 3-1/4" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 2" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
Mount the "Season's Greetings" sentiment from the Stylish Christmas Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Poppy Parade Ink Pad. Stamp it in the upper right corner of the Blushing Bride rectangle.
Pick out the embossing folder with the lines of vines with leaves from the Petal Pair Embossing Folders. Place the strip of Pear Pizzazz Cardstock into the embossing folder. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on top of a Cutting Pad on your Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place another Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
Tear a little bit off one long side of the dry embossed Pear Pizzazz strip.
Adhere the torn, dry embossed Pear Pizzazz strip to the bottom of the stamped Blushing Bride rectangle so the torn edge is on top and only about 1-7/8" of the Pear Pizzazz is adhered to the bottom. Use Paper Snips to trim off excess Pear Pizzazz Cardstock if needed.
Adhere the Blushing Bride/Pear Pizzazz rectangle to the large Pear Pizzazz rectangle and then to the front of the Poppy Parade card.
Mount the poinsettia image from the Stylish Christmas Set on Block D.
Tip: Because this is a DistINKtive stamp, you will get the best results if you follow the directions in the next step to ink up the image.
Rub a Sponge Dauber across the open Poppy Parade Ink Pad to get it inky. Then, dab the inky dauber onto the rubber side of the poinsettia stamp until it is completely covered in ink. Get more ink on the dauber as needed. Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink and stamp it on one of the large vanilla rectangles. Repeat two more times onto two more vanilla rectangles so you have 3 stamped poinsettias.
Tip: I just clean my Sponge Daubers when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Cut out the poinsettia flowers by hand using Paper Snips.
If desired, get some more Poppy Parade Ink on the Sponge Dauber and rub it across the cut edges of the flowers. This will help cover any bare spots showing from cutting the flowers out and will also add more depth to the images.
Mount the set of 3 leaves image from the Stylish Christmas Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Pear Pizzazz Ink Pad. Stamp it on the small vanilla rectangle.
Use Paper Snips to cut out the stamped leaves.
WITHOUT adhering, lay the leaves and flowers on the left side of the card front to figure out the placement and spacing.
When you are happy with the placement of things, adhere the leaves and two upper flowers to the card front using SNAIL so the leaves are poking out from behind the top of the left flower.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the third flower in the lower left corner.
