S parkly, shiny Christmas card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and Glimmer Paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Seaside Spray Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 3-1/2" square from Seaside Spray Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 4-1/8" from Silver Glimmer Paper
Put 5 to 7 drops of Seaside Spray Ink Refill into an empty Stampin' Spritzer. Fill the rest of the spritzer up with 1/3 water and 2/3 rubbing alcohol. Give it a good shake to mix the color into the water/alcohol mix.
Put some Grid Paper on your work surface to protect it from ink and make sure that anything you don't want to get ink on is moved out of the way. Place the large white rectangle on your Grid Paper.
Use the blue water/alcohol in the Stampin' Spritzer to spray on the cardstock until you get the coverage you desire, but you don't want it to be too dark. Set the cardstock aside to let it dry.
As you are ready to stamp using the So Many Stars Photopolymer Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the large filigree star image from the So Many Stars Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Silvery Shimmer Delicata Metallic Ink Pad. Stamp in the center of the Seaside Spray square.
Tip: The Delicata Metallic Inks dry almost instantly, so no need to heat set or wait for them to dry.
Pick out the open, stitched, star die that cuts out a star that is 3-1/4" wide from the Stitched Stars Dies. Put it on top of the stamped star image on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the star is centered. Run through the tool.
Tip: You may have to press fairly firmly along the edges of the die to pop the cut out loose.
Pick out the swirls and stars die from the Stitched Stars Dies. Put it on top of the rectangle Silver Glimmer Paper on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces. Save the big swirls and stars piece and one of the cut out stars.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the glimmer paper star cut out you saved to the center of the Seaside Spray star.
If the spritzed white rectangle is dry, proceed with the next step.
Tip: You can speed up drying with a Heat Tool if needed.
Mount the sentiment of choice from the So Many Stars Set on an appropriately sized block. Ink it up with the Seaside Spray Ink Pad. Stamp it on the bottom of the spritzed white rectangle either centering it or putting it in the lower right corner.
Mount the small filigree star image from the So Many Stars Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Seaside Spray Ink Pad. Stamp it randomly onto the spritzed white rectangle near the edges about three times. Stamp one full strength and two stamped off.
Mount the cluster of little dots and tiny stars image from the So Many Stars Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Silvery Shimmer Delicata Metallic Ink Pad. Stamp it 4 times near the center of the spritzed white rectangle, remembering to re-ink each time.
Adhere the stamped and spritzed white rectangle to the front of the Seaside Spray card.
Lay the silver glimmer paper stars and swirls cut out across the center of the card at a slight angle so the top edge is about 1-1/8" from the top of the card. Secure it in place with a small piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive across the center. Leave the protective backing in place.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the Seaside Spray star cut out to the front of the card so it is centered over the stars and swirls cut out.
