Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Granny Apple Green Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" of rows of really light green tropical leaves and dark green dots on slightly darker light green background from Tropical Escape 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper, cut so the leaves are horizontal
- 1-1/4" x 3-1/4" from Shaded Spruce Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 2-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1" x 3" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1" x 2-1/2" from Daffodil Delight Cardstock
- 1" x 1-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock
Adhere the piece of Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper to the front of the Granny Apple Green card.
Pick out the solid lily pad framelit from the Hop Around Framelits. Place the piece of Shaded Spruce Cardstock on the Cutting Pad on the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the lily pad framelit on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick and Die Brush to remove the pieces.
Use the blade of the Paper Snips (or your fingernail) to rough up the edges of the lily pad cut out.
Adhere the lily pad cut out to the front of the card so it is centered side to side and is about 1-1/2" up from the bottom.
Pick out both of the solid waterlily flower framelits from the Hop Around Framelits. Place the piece of Daffodil Delight Cardstock on the Cutting Pad on the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the waterlily flower framelits on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick and Die Brush to remove the pieces.
Adhere the flower cut outs on top of each other so they are slightly offset. Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the flowers to the right side of the lily pad.
Mount the frog with glasses stamp from the So Hoppy Together Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it in the center of the large white piece.
Pick out the matching frog with glasses framelit from the Hop Around Framelits. Place the stamped frog image on the Cutting Pad on the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the frog framelit on top so it is centered over the frog image. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Place the frog cut out on top of some paper on your work surface (Grid Paper works great). You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Start coloring with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas. Use the dark colors first and then the light colors to blend the colors and color in the spaces. Work on one area at a time so the inks will be wet and will blend easier.
Use the Light and Dark Shaded Spruce Markers to color in his belly.
Use the Light and Dark Granny Apple Green Markers to color in the rest of the body. Make sure to leave the eyeballs uncolored for now.
Use the Light Daffodil Delight Marker to color in his eyes.
Adhere the colored frog cut out to the front of the card so it is centered on the lily pad with only the feet on the lily pad. Make sure NOT to put adhesive on the back of his outstretched arm.
Mount the "May your day be as wonderful as you Happy Birthday" sentiment from the Cake Soiree Set on Block H. Use the brush tip of the Shaded Spruce Marker to ink up only the words "Happy Birthday." Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink and stamp in the center of the long strip of white cardstock.
Pick out the long, single, open banner framelit from the Bunch of Banners Framelits. Place the stamped sentiment on the white strip on a Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on your Big Shot. Place the banner framelit on top so the sentiment is on the left side. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Poke out the banner with the sentiment and keep it. Also use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to poke out the outline banner that is probably stuck inside the framelit, remove it, and throw it away. If you don't remove it, then you will have trouble cutting with this framelit the next time you use it.
Adhere the sentiment banner cut out to the card front so it overlaps the frog's body and the outstretched hand of the frog overlaps the banner just above the "a" in the word "happy."
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a small Granny Apple Green dot from a sheet of Glitter Enamel Dots making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it over the "a" in the word "happy" on the sentiment banner.
Mount the set of three tiny flies image from the So Hoppy Together Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it in the center of the remaining white piece.
Place the stamped flies image on top of some paper on your work surface (Grid Paper works great). You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Start coloring with the Stampin' Blends Markers. Use the fine tip for coloring in smaller areas.
Use the Light Granny Apple Green Marker to color in the wings on the flies.
Use the Light Daffodil Delight Marker to color in the eyes of the flies.
Use the Dark Daffodil Delight Marker to color in the bodies of the flies.
Pick out the matching framelit that cuts out three little flies from the Hop Around Framelits. Place the stamped and colored flies image on the Cutting Pad on the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the flies framelit on top so it is centered over the stamped and colored flies. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick and Die Brush to remove the pieces.
Use the Fine-Tip Glue Pen or Multipurpose Liquid Glue to attach the fly cut outs in a loose triangle in the upper right corner of the card front.
