Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer and Paper Snips Scissors:
- card from Poppy Parade Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Pool Party Cardstock
- 4" x 5-1/2" of pink and red plaid design from Snowy Scenes 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 2" x 3" from Garden Green Cardstock
- snowman roughly cut from sheet of snowmen and trees design from Snowy Scenes 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper using Paper Snips Scissors
Mount the Falling Snow stamp on Block F. Leave the stamp rubber side up on your work surface and press the open Pool Party Ink Pad all over it.
Leave the stamp inky rubber side up on your work surface. Carefully place the Pool Party rectangle horizontally across the center of the vertical inky stamp so the left edge of the cardstock is as close as possible to the left edge of the stamp and a bit of the cardstock hangs off the right edge. Place a piece of Grid Paper on top of the cardstock/inky rubber and rub firmly all over. Remove the Grid Paper and the inked up cardstock rectangle.
As you are ready to stamp using the Snowy Wonder Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "Let it snow" sentiment from the Snowy Wonder Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Poppy Parade Ink Pad. Stamp it in the upper right corner of the horizontal, snow fall stamped Pool Party rectangle. Make sure the unstamped side of the Pool Party rectangle is on the left edge.
Place the piece of Snowy Scenes Designer Paper on the Paper Trimmer so one long edge is along the top. Score at 1", 1-1/2", 2-1/2" , 3", 4", and 4-1/2".
Place the scored designer paper rectangle on the Paper Trimmer at an angle so the bottom right corner is on the 1-1/4" mark to the right of the cutting track and the bottom left corner is centered over the cutting track. Cut off the triangular strip between the two corners.
Fold the skinny, right most edge of the designer paper on the 1" score line so it is a mountain fold. Fold on the 1-1/2" score line so it is a valley fold. Continue folding on all score lines alternating between mountain and valley folds. Crease the folds down tight with a Bone Folder.
Find a point along the right, skinny side of the folded designer paper that is about 1-3/4" from the top edge. Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut a horizontal slit through the entire top flap to the edge of the fold. You will cut through the bottom fold a bit as well.
Fold the top flap back from the top corner of the designer paper to the center of the slit making a triangle a shown. Use the Bone Folder to make a sharp crease.
Fold the bottom flap back from the bottom corner of the designer paper to the center of the slit making a triangle a shown. Use the Bone Folder to make a sharp crease. If needed, use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off any excess designer paper peeking out from the bottom of the triangular fold.
Cut a 3" piece of the Pool Party 5/8" Pompom Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon horizontally across the center of the folded designer paper so it is centered over the cut slit on the right side. Fold the ends of the ribbon over and secure the ribbon in place on the back with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive making the curtain tie-back.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the folded designer paper. Adhere the folded designer paper to the left side of the stamped Pool Party rectangle so the top and left sides are even and you have created a curtain.
Adhere the stamped and layered Pool Party rectangle to the front of the Poppy Parade card.
Mount the larger pine tree image from the Snowy Wonder Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Garden Green Ink Pad. Stamp it two times on the Garden Green rectangle remembering to re-ink the stamp each time and leave room between the images to cut them out with the die.
Pick out the matching, larger tree die from the Snowy Wonder Dies. Put it on top of one of the stamped trees on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Repeat with the other stamped tree.
If you haven't already done so, use Paper Snips Scissors to roughly cut out a snowman image by hand from the piece of Snowy Scenes Designer Paper.
Pick out the matchingm snowman die from the Snowy Wonder Dies. Put it on top of the roughly cut out snowman on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the two tree cut outs and the snowman cut out in place on the right side of the card to figure out placement and spacing. When happy with the layout, adhere the pieces in place one at a time.
Put 5 small drops of Multipurpose Liquid Glue around the right side of the card front where you want to adhere a small snowflake. Use the putty tip of the Take Your Pick to pick up 5 snowflakes one at a time from the White Loose Snowflakes. Adhere them to the card front using the drops of liquid glue.
