Die Cutting Instructions:
Cut 1 solid square using the largest square from the die set. This is used to stamp your images.
Cut the 2nd square using both the largest and next largest square from the die set. You can nest the squares together and just do one run through the die-cutting machine. This makes the frame for your shaker.
Then cut the banner for the sentiment
Take the Basic White frame and turn it over so that the bottom is facing you. Run a very thin line of liquid glue around the edges, then place the window sheet over the frame and press to make sure all edges have adhered. NOTE: make sure you don't use too much glue, otherwise it will seep out onto the window sheet and will show on the finished product! Set this aside so it dries completely.
Take the 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Basic White and use the Snowflake embossing folder down the center of the cardstock layer.
Wrap your ribbon around the middle of this piece and adhere the ends to the back of the layer. Then attach this to the card base front.
Take the solid Basic White square and start stamping your images. I stamped the snowman's body, arms, and face using Memento Black. Stamp the image in the center of the square, making sure not to place it too high because you will need room to place his hat. Color the nose using a Pumpkin Pie marker.
Use Balmy Blue to color the bird stamp and stamp on top of either arm of the snowman.
Use Balmy Blue to stamp the lines depicting snow under the snowman. Put them as close to the snowman bottom as possible so that you can see them once the shaker is assembled.
Stamp the hat and scarf on a small scrap of Basic White cardstock. I used the marker to stamp technique but you could also just use ink pads. Die cut both pieces. Attach them to the snowman using glue dots.
Set this square aside.
Take the square with the window sheet and place it down on your work surface with the back facing you.
Take strips of the foam adhesive and place them on all 4 sides, MAKING SURE THERE ARE NO GAPS AT THE CORNERS OF THE SQUARE. This is VERY important. Any gaps will allow the sequins to fall through when you shake the card (ask me how I know, lol!).
Hold the square up to eye level and turn it to each side to see if you can see any light at the corners. If you do, you can place a small dot of glue to seal it up. If you have to do this step, you need to allow that glue to dry before proceeding to the next step. Otherwise, sequins will stick to the wet glue.
Once you are satisfied that the adhesive strips are tightly sealed in the corners, you can add the sequins.
The square should be flat on your worksurface with the adhesive strips facing you (DO NOT REMOVE THE PROTECTIVE COVERING FROM THESE STRIPS YET!).
Take several pinches of your sequins of choice and place them in the center of the window sheet. You don't want to use a ton of sequins or it will obscure your stamped image.
Leaving the square flat on your work surface, remove the protective covering on all the adhesive strips.
Take the square with the stamped images and turn it so that the images are facing the square with the adhesive strips (the solid white back should be facing you).
Gently adhere the square to the window sheet square, lining it up evenly. I found it easier to stand over the project while doing this, it gives you a better view.
Now flip the square over and you've created your shaker piece! If you were slightly off when attaching the stamp image, you can trim it now (make sure you are trimming the bottom square with the stamped image, not the framed front.
Color the bird using Balmy Blue ink (marker or ink pad) and stamp it to the far right of the banner die cut. Then stamp the sentiment using Memento Ink.
Attach the shaker square to the center of the card front using either tear tape or liquid glue. Since you are attaching it to an embossed layer, you want to make sure it stays put.
Attach the banner with the sentiment below the shaker square using dimensionals.
Stamp your sentiment inside the card using Memento ink.
Add the festive pearls.
You are finished!
