Project Recipe
Cut paper to the following measurements:
Whisper White cardstock 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
Highland Heather cardstock 5 3/8" x 4 1/8"
Pool Party cardstock 5 1/4" x 4"
Whisper White cardstock 3 5/8" x 3 3/8"
Vellum 2" x 4"
Vellum scrap approximately 4" x 3"
Adhere to the Whisper White cardbase, the Highland Heather panel, which is a new Stampin' Up! color this year.
Follow that with the embossed Pool Party layer. This layer was embossed using the Blizzard Thinlits die along with the Big Shot Embossing blue silicone mat. The thin blue mat allows you to emboss with thinlit dies and it does not cut the cardstock.
The next panel is Whisper White cardstock that has been stamped with the two solid stamps from the Beautiful Blizzard stamp set using Pool Party and Highland Heather ink. After inking up the stamp, stamped off on a scrap piece of paper before stamping the image on the Whisper White panel. The snowflakes were stamped in Pool Party.
Next add a small amount of Multipurpose Glue onto the Silicone Craft Sheet and mix in a couple drops of water to make the glue fairly thin. Stamp the snowflakes again in various locations on the Whisper White panel using the watered down glue as "ink". Immediately sprinkle the entire panel with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, followed by Clear Embossing Powder and then heat set it using the Stampin' Up! heat tool. Adhere this panel to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.
The sentiment is from the Beautiful Blizzard stamp set and was stamped several times in Bermuda Bay ink onto the Vellum paper, by the way the Stamparatus works great for this. While the ink is still wet, sprinkle it with Clear Embossing powder and heat set it using your heat tool. Adhere the Vellum onto the card front by placing glue dots behind the "w" on snowflake and then in places where you will be placing the vellum snowflakes. This way you will not be able to see the glue dots through the vellum.
The snowflakes were made using Vellum that had been stamped all over with the VersaMark ink pad and then sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds glitter and Clear Embossing powder. Heat set the glitter and embossing powder with your heat tool. Cut out the snowflakes using the Blizzard Thinlits die. Because I was not sure how the snowflakes were going to cut out, I used the die on the plain side of the vellum. It cut out beautifully and easily. Adhere the snowflakes onto the card front using multipurpose glue.
The sentiment and snowflakes on the inside of the card are also from the Beautiful Blizzard stamp set and were stamped in Bermuda Bay ink.
