P retty paper + Dies + Greeting = a pretty fun fold card!
Project Recipe
Cut your cardstock for your card base to 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and score at 2-1/8 on both ends. Fold on score lines to create the gatefold.
Pick out your pretty paper (I used a piece of Peaceful Poppies designer series paper) and cut 2 pieces that measure 2" x 5-3/8". Adhere a piece to each of the 2 front gatefold panels.
Using 2 coordinating dies (I used dies from the Layering Circles Dies) and nest them to cut out a frame as shown.
Cut the frame out of Basic Black cardstock with your die cutting machine.
Using the same circle that you used for the inside of the frame, cut out a circle in Whisper White cardstock. Stamp an image in a light color like Flirty Flamingo, then stamp your greeting in a dark color like Tuxedo Black Memento ink directly over the stamped image. I used an image and greeting from the Daisy Lane stamp set.
Adhere the frame to the left panel, making sure you only put adhesive on the left portion of the frame.
Close the card, and adhere the circle to the right panel through the frame, again making sure you are only putting adhesive on the right side of the circle.
This will allow the circle to go through the frame easily when you open and close the card.
Add a small Rhinestone to the dot above the "i" in Smile for a little extra sparkle!
For the inside, cut a piece of Basic Black or other coordinating color cardstock measuring 4" x 5-1/4", and adhere to the inside of the card.
Cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 3-3/4" x 5" and adhere to the Basic Black cardstock on the inside.
If you want to add a stamped image and/or an additional greeting to the inside of the card do that before adhering the Whisper White layer to the Basic Black layer.
