Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Petunia Pop Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Granny Apple Green Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Basic White Cardstock
- 3" x 4-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1" x 3-3/4" from Granny Apple Green Cardstock
Mount the set of three lines made of dots image from the Simply Zinnias Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Petunia Pop Ink Pad. Stamp the image on the lower right side of the vertical 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" white rectangle so the lines are horizontal and go off the right edge about 3/4" from the bottom. Re-ink the image and stamp it again just to the left of the first set of lines as close together as possible.
Tip: Be sure to use a piece of Grid Paper on your work surface to protect it from ink.
Insert the stamped white rectangle into the Zinnia 3D Embossing Folder so the stems are vertical on the vertical rectangle. Use the line printed on the front flap of the folder to make sure it is lined up straight. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Mount the group of 3 zinnia flowers with leaves and stems from the Simply Zinnias Set on Block E. Ink it up with the Jet Black StazOn Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the remaining white rectangle.
Pick out the matching, open set of 3 zinnias with stems and leaves die from the Simply Zinnia Dies. Put it on top of the stamped image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Tip: I find it better to cut out images before coloring them. That way, if the die slips you haven't wasted time and ink coloring the image.
Squeeze the lid of the Petunia Pop Ink Pad to get ink in the lid. Use the Blender Pen to pick up ink from the pad lid and color in the petals on the flowers on the image. Remember to stroke in one direction only or the cardstock will tear and pill up. Get more ink on the tip of the pen as needed. Scribble on Grid Paper when you are done until no more ink is coming off the Blender Pen before switching to a different color.
Squeeze the lid of the Granny Apple Green Ink Pad to get ink in the lid. Use the Blender Pen to pick up ink from the pad lid and color in the leaves and stems and to color the centers of the flowers on the cut out image. Remember to stroke in one direction only or the cardstock will tear and pill up. Make some areas darker than others. Get more ink on the tip of the pen as needed. Scribble on Grid Paper when you are done until no more ink is coming off the Blender Pen before putting the pen away.
Adhere the colored flowers cut out to the stamped and dry embossed white layer as shown.
Unlock the Happy Labels Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the Granny Apple Green strip into the right side of the punch (the side of the punch with the smaller scallops) as far as it will go and get it centered. Punch.
Mount the "thank you so much" sentiment from the Simply Zinnia Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Jet Black StazOn Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the punched strip.about 1/4" from the right edge with the punched edge on the right.
Cut a 7" piece of the Petunia Pop 3/8" Bordered Ribbon.
Wrap the ribbon around the stamped and punched sentiment strip about 5/8" to the left of the stamped sentiment. Tie in place with a knot. Trim the ends.
Adhere the sentiment strip with ribbon attached to the bottom of the stamped and dry embossed white rectangle so it covers the bottoms of the stems and the left side of the stamped rows of dots and is centered over the rows of dots, and there is about 1/4" of green between the left edge of the cardstock and the left edge of the ribbon. Trim off excess cardstock on the left side using Paper Snips Scissors.
Adhere the dry embossed and stamped white layer with everything attached to the center of the large Granny Apple Green rectangle and then to the front of the Petunia Pop card.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 1 small and 2 large butterflies from a sheet of Brushed Brass Butterflies making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the front of the card as shown.
