Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, designer paper, and Glimmer Paper pieces to the following sizes using a cutting and scoring tool:
- card from Night of Navy Cardstock at 4-1/4" x 11" and cut and scored as outlined in steps 2 and 3
- 2-1/2" x 5-1/4" from Pacific Point Cardstock
- 2-3/8" x 5-1/8" of blue, green, yellow, and white mottled design from See A Silhouette Designer Series Paper
- 2 strips each 5/8" x 4-3/8" of blue, green, yellow, and white mottled design from See A Silhouette Designer Series Paper
- 1-1/2" x 3-1/2" from Pacific Point Cardstock
- scrap of Silver Glimmer Paper
Place the long piece of Night of Navy Cardstock on a cutting tool so the cuts will be perpendicular to a long edge of the card and will be 3/4" from the long edge. Cut from the 1" mark to the 5-1/2" mark on both sides.
Place the cut, long piece of Night of Navy Cardstock on a scoring tool so the scores will be parallel to a long edge of the card and to the cuts you made in Step 1. At the 1" mark, score from the cut slit to the edge of the card on both sides. Do NOT score across the center between the cut slits. Score again at the 2" mark from the cut slit to the edge of the card on both sides. Do NOT score across the center between the cut slits. Repeat one more time, scoring at the 6-1/2" mark from the cut slit to the edge of the card on both sides. Do NOT score across the center between the cut slits. Now, score across the center of the card between the cut slits at the 5-1/2" mark.
Fold the Night of Navy card on all score lines. Fold the bottom lines at the 1” mark as mountain folds. Fold the lines at the 2” mark as valley folds. Fold the line on the center piece at the 5-1/2” mark as a mountain fold. Fold the lines at the 6-1/2” mark as mountain folds.
Adhere the two thin strips of See A Silhouette Designer Paper to the two thin sides between the 2" and 6-1/2" score lines.
Rub the Embossing Buddy all over the large piece of See A Silhouette Designer Paper.
Mount the silhouette image of choice from the Silhouette Scenes Set on Block H. Ink it up with the VersaMark Pad. Stamp it close to the left edge of the designer paper about 1-3/4” from the bottom.
Lay the stamped designer paper piece on top of some Grid Paper in the center. Sprinkle on some Shimmer Black Stampin' Emboss Powder so it covers the stamped image. Tap off excess powder. Return the excess powder to the container to use again later.
Tip: I use a fine-tip paintbrush to knock off any excess powder that is stuck anywhere I don't want it.
Heat the powder with the Heat Tool until it is completely melted (shiny and more opaque black).
Tip: Use a clothespin to hold the designer paper while using the Heat Tool to avoid burning your fingers.
Adhere the heat embossed designer paper to the large Pacific Point rectangle.
Cut a 3” piece of Black 3/8" Glittered Organdy Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the matted, heat embossed designer paper about 1” up from the bottom edge. Flip the layers over and adhere the ends of the ribbon in place with small pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the adhesive and add SNAIL to the back of the Pacific Point rectangle and adhere it to the center panel of the card front.
Mount the sentiment of choice from the Silhouette Scenes Set on Block B or H. Ink it up with the Night of Navy Ink Pad. Stamp on the strip of Pacific Point Cardstock near one end.
Unlock the Timeless Label Punch. Hold the punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the stamped sentiment into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment punch out to the center panel so it is centered over the ribbon.
Cut a 3-1/2” piece of Black 3/8" Glittered Organdy Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the center right side of the sentiment punch out at a slight angle.
Unlock the Twinkle Builder Punch. Hold the punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the scrap of Silver Glimmer Paper into the punch and punch out three different size stars.
Use Mini Glue Dots to adhere the glimmer star punch outs to the center panel at the top.
