Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- 6" square of Whisper White Thick Cardstock
- 2-1/4" square of Whisper White Cardstock
- scrap of Cherry Cobbler Cardstock at least 1-1/2" wide
- scrap of Whisper White Cardstock at least 1-1/2" wide
Follow the directions printed on the Envelope Punch Board for making an envelope that will hold a 3" x 4" card using the 6" square of Whisper White Thick Cardstock.
Use the corner rounder punch on the Envelope Punch Board to round the tips of the two large flaps.
As you are ready to stamp using the Signs of Santa Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the Santa with list image from the Signs of Santa Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the lower left corner of the envelope front (center panel).
Mount the "Wishing you everything..." sentiment from the Signs of Santa Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Cherry Cobbler Ink Pad. Stamp it in the lower right corner of the envelope front (center panel).
Place the stamped envelope piece on top of some paper on your work surface (Grid Paper works great). You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Start coloring with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas.
Use the Ivory Marker to color in Santa's face, ears, and hands.
Use the Dark and Light Cherry Cobbler Markers to color in Santa's suit and hat.
Use the Dark Smoky Slate Marker to color in Santa's belt buckle.
Use the Color Lifter Marker to remove any color that got anywhere you don't want it.
Fold the envelope closed.
Tip: You can use the scoring tool from the Envelope Punch Board like a Bone Folder to get sharp fold lines.
Use small pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive to hold the ends of three of the flaps together to make the envelope. Make sure you leave the top flap unstuck so the envelope can be opened and closed!
Insert the envelope with the top flap open into the Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder so the bottom of the envelope is at the bottom of the closed end of the folder. Place the folder with the card stock inside on a Cutting Pad on the Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place a Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
Tip: Make sure the edges of the folder are completely on the platform. Otherwise they will catch on the sides of the Big Shot and it may damage the folder and/or the Big Shot..
Mount the "Do not open till Christmas!" sentiment from the Signs of Santa Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Cherry Cobbler Ink Pad. Stamp it on the scrap of white cardstock.
Unlock the 1" Circle Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped sentiment into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Unlock the 1-1/4" Circle Punch. Slide the Cherry Cobbler scrap into the punch. Punch.
Adhere the sentiment punch out circle to the center of the Cherry Cobbler punch out circle.
Use two Mini Stampin' Dimensionals at the bottom of the matted circles to adhere them to the back of the envelope near the bottom. This will allow the top flap of the envelope to slide under the top of the circles to help keep it closed.
Insert gift card or folded money or a folded check.
Place the small square of Whisper White Cardstock on the Precision Base Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the Blizzard Thinlit on top so you'll get one large snowflake with a circle in the center. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush and Paper-Piercing Tool to remove the pieces.
Cut a 13" piece of Cherry Cobbler 1/4" Double-Stitched Ribbon.
Wrap the ribbon around the top of the closed envelope. Thread both ends through the hole in the center of the snowflake cut out. Tie a knot in the ends so the snowflake cut out is up against the front of the envelope. Trim the ends.
