Project Recipe
Cut card stock and designer series paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Delightful Dijon Card Stock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Whisper White Card Stock
- 1-1/4" x 4" of white dots on Delightful Dijon background pattern from 2015-2017 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack
- 1" x 3" from Crushed Curry Card Stock
- 2" x 6" from Whisper White Card Stock
Pick out the double circle framelit from the Sliding Star Framelits. Place the large rectangle of Whisper White on a Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on your Big Shot. Place the double circle framelit on top so it is centered from side to side and about 3/8" from the top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot. Keep all the pieces!
Adhere the strip of designer series paper to the bottom of the large white rectangle with the circle cut out of it.
Mount one of the "bee" sentiments from the Shooting Star Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Cajun Craze Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Crushed Curry strip.
Unlock the Classic Label Punch and hold it upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the stamped card stock into the punch and center the sentiment in the punching area. Punch.
Adhere the sentiment punch out to the center of the designer paper.
Cut 2 pieces of Crushed Curry Baker's Twine each 5" long.
Lay the Baker's Twine pieces across white/designer paper layer so they cover the seam between the designer paper and the card stock. Flip the card front over and fold the ends of the ribbon over. Adhere them in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive across the ends.
Cut a 7" piece of Crushed Curry Baker's Twine. Tie it to the right side of the two pieces of twine on the card front in a small bow. Trim the ends.
Put a Stampin' Dimensional in all four corners of the back of the card front. Put a few other Dimensionals on the back side near the circle cut into the card front. Don't get too close to the circle though. Peel off the protective backings. VERY IMPORTANT - put another Dimensional on top of each Dimensional so they are all two layers thick. Peel off the protective backings and adhere the card front to the front of the Delightful Dijon card.
Squeeze the lid of the Crushed Curry Ink Pad to get a pool of ink in the lid. Open the pad but leave the lid exposed. Use a Blender Pen to pick up some ink from the puddle in the lid and color a small puddle of "honey" on the bottom third of the solid circle cut out from the white card stock. Pick up more ink from the pad lid as needed. Remember to stroke the Blender Pen in one direction only. If you go back and forth, then the card stock could start to pill and tear. When you are done coloring, scribble the Blender Pen back and forth on scratch paper until no more color is coming off.
Without adhereing, place the ring of white card stock cut out inside the circle on the front of the card.
Put four Stampin' Dimensionals near the center of the back of the solid white circle cut out. Peel off the protective backings. VERY IMPORTANT - put another Dimensional on top of each Dimensional so they are all two layers thick.
Peel off the protective backings and adhere the circle to the center of the circle on the front of the card inside the ring. Make sure the "puddle of honey" is at the bottom of the circle.
Remove the white circle ring and throw it away.
Mount the bee hive image on Block B. Ink it up with the Cajun Craze Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the long white strip.
Mount the large bee image on Block B. Ink it up with the Cajun Craze Ink Pad and stamp it in the center of the long white strip.
Mount the small bee image on Block A. Ink it up with the Delightful Dijon Ink Pad and stamp it 5 times on the other end of the long white strip. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time and leave a little space between each bee.
Squeeze the lid of the Crushed Curry Ink Pad again to get a pool of ink in the lid. Open the pad but leave the lid exposed. Use a Blender Pen to pick up some ink from the puddle in the lid and scribble color all over each small bee. Pick up more ink from the pad lid as needed. Remember to stroke the Blender Pen in one direction only. If you go back and forth, then the card stock could start to pill and tear. When you are done coloring, scribble the Blender Pen back and forth on scratch paper until no more color is coming off.
Pick out the bee hive, large bee, and small bee framelits from the Sliding Star Framelits. Place the stamped white strip on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the framelits on top of the corresponding images so they are centered over the stamped images. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot. Repeat with each of the small bee images.
Adhere three of the small bee images to the card front using a Mini Glue Dot on each one. Put one in the upper left corner, one on the right side just above the Baker's Twine, and one at the left end of the sentiment punch out. Hold on to the other two small bees for now.
Squeeze the lid of the Delightful Dijon Ink Pad again to get a pool of ink in the lid. Open the pad but leave the lid exposed. Use the Blender Pen to pick up some ink from the puddle in the lid and color in the striped bottom of the large bee. Pick up more ink from the pad lid as needed. Remember to stroke the brush in one direction only. If you go back and forth, then the card stock could start to pill and tear. When you are done coloring with the Delightful Dijon color, scribble the brush back and forth on scratch paper until no more color is coming off.
Repeat the step above using the Cajun Craze Ink Pad. Color in the top of the bee and lightly color in the bee hive. Remember to stroke in one direction only, to get more ink as needed from the pad lid, and to clean the Blender Pen by scribbling on scratch paper when done coloring.
Use the Gold Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to color in the wings on the large bee.
Adhere the colored bee hive cut out to the center of the circle on the card front so it is sitting in the "puddle of honey."
Use Mini Glue Dots to adhere the two remaining small bees to the hive as shown.
Adhere two pennies together using a single Stampin' Dimensional in the middle of them.
Slide the penny sandwich onto the ring track on the card front.
Put a small piece of Tear & Tape adhesive on the top of the penny sandwich. Peel off the protective backing and adhere the large bee cut out to the penny sandwich.
