Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Mango Melody Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Daffodil Delight Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1" x 4" from Daffodil Delight Cardstock
- 2" x 3-1/2" from Cajun Craze Cardstock
Mount the large grouping of leaves image from the Sheltering Tree Set on Block E.
Open the Woodland Embossing Folder and place the side with the logos printed on it upside down on your work surface so that the other side of the folder is sticking up in the air.
Ink up the grouping of leaves image with the Daffodil Delight Ink Pad. Stamp it several times directly onto the inside of the embossing folder that is flat on the work surface. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Leave about 1-1/4" of the folder along the fold line without ink. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Mist, Stampin' Scrub, and Simply Shammy, but leave it on the block.
Ink up the grouping of leaves image again but with the Mango Melody Ink Pad. Stamp it several times directly onto the inside of the embossing folder that is flat on the work surface. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Overlap the previously stamped areas some. Leave about 1-1/4" of the folder along the fold line without ink. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Mist, Stampin' Scrub, and Simply Shammy, but leave it on the block.
Ink up about 1/3 of the grouping of leaves image with the Cajun Craze Ink Pad. Stamp it several times directly onto the inside of the embossing folder that is flat on the work surface. Remember to re-ink the same area of the stamp each time. Overlap the previously stamped areas some. Leave about 1-1/4" of the folder along the fold line without ink. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Mist, Stampin' Scrub, and Simply Shammy and put it away.
Insert the piece of Whisper White Cardstock into the inky embossing folder. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on a Cutting Pad on top of the Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place a Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
Remove the cardstock from the folder.
Tip: If you are making multiples of this card, wipe the inside of the folder clean with a baby wipe or wet paper towel.
Tip: If you are only making one of this card, rinse the inside of the folder clean under running water and allow it to air dry.
Unlock the Banner Triple Punch. Slide one end of the strip of Daffodil Delight Cardstock into the punch as far as it will go. Punch.
Pick out one of the sentiments from the Sheltering Tree Set. Mount it on Block H. Ink it up with the Cajun Craze Ink Pad. Stamp it on the strip of punched Daffodil Delight in the center so the notch is on the left side.
Tip: If you use the "friendship is a sheltering tree" sentiment, you will need to ink up only the words "friendship is" by carefully pressing those words only to the open Cajun Craze Ink Pad. Stamp those words near the top of the center of the strip. Clean the stamp thoroughly with the Stampin' Mist, Stampin' Scrub, and Simply Shammy, but leave it on the block. Ink up only the words "a sheltering tree" by carefully pressing those words only to the open Cajun Craze Ink Pad. Stamp those words under the other words in the center of the strip. Clean the stamp thoroughly with the Stampin' Mist, Stampin' Scrub, and Simply Shammy and put it away.
Adhere the punched, stamped sentiment strip to the bottom of the embossed white layer so it covers most of the seam between the colored and uncolored areas and the notch is on the left. Use Paper Snips to trim off any excess cardstock on the right side.
Adhere the white layer to the large Daffodil Delight layer and then to the front of the Mango Melody card.
Pick out the two small, solid deer framelits from the Detailed Deer Thinlits. Place them both on top of the Cajun Craze rectangle on top of a Cutting Pad on the Big Shot. Make sure the framelits do NOT overlap. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Tip: Don't worry about getting all the antlers on the one deer. You are going to cut them off anyway.
Use Paper Snips to cut the antlers off the one deer's head. Cut a small ear shape from the bit you cut off.
Adhere the deer cut outs to the front of the card so their feet are hidden behind the top of the sentiment strip.
Put a tiny dot of Fine-Tip Glue behind the little ear shape you cut out. Adhere it to the top of the one deer's head.
Tip: You can use the putty end of the Take Your Pick tool to help pick up and position the ear.
