P retty monochromatic card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Basic White Thick Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Orchid Oasis Cardstock
- 3-1/8" x 3-7/8" from Basic White Cardstock
- 3" x 3-3/4" from Orchid Oasis Cardstock
- 1" x 3-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-1/2" square from Basic White Cardstock
Insert the large Orchid Oasis rectangle into the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder so the word pattern runs horizontally across the horizontal cardstock. Use the line printed on the front flap of the folder to make sure it is lined up straight. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Adhere the dry embossed Orchid Oasis rectangle to the front of the Basic White Thick card.
Rub the Embossing Buddy included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit all over the smaller Orchid Oasis rectangle.
As you are ready to stamp using the Sending Smiles Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
In order to work quickly, go ahead and mount the following images from the Sending Smiles Set on blocks:
- the longer stem with a smaller branch stem and multiple leaves image on Block D
- the larger, flatter flower image on Block C
- the slightly more angled, small flower image on Block B.
Ink up the longer stem with a smaller branch stem and multiple leaves on Block D with the VersaMark Ink Pad. Stamp it along the right side of the small horizontal Orchid Oasis rectangle so the bottom of the stem is in the lower right corner.
Ink up the larger, flatter flower image on Block C with the VersaMark Ink Pad. Stamp it at the end of the upper stem.
Ink up the slightly more angled, small flower image on Block B with the VersaMark Ink Pad. Stamp it at the end of the bottom stem.
Lay the VersaMark stamped rectangle in the center of the Powder Pal included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit. Sprinkle on some white powder from the Basics Stampin' Emboss Powders so it covers the entire stamped image. Tap off excess powder. Return the excess powder to the container to use again later.
Heat the powder with the Heat Tool on the highest setting until it is completely melted (shiny and smooth).
Tip: Use the Crafting Tweezers included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit to hold the cardstock while you are heating it so you don't burn your fingers.
Mount the larger flat flower center from the Sending Smiles Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Orchid Oasis Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the big flower at the end of the top stem.
Mount the tiny dot flower center from the Sending Smiles Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Orchid Oasis Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the small flower at the end of the bottom stem.
Pick out the set of 4 photo corners with scroll work die from the Fabulous Frames Dies. Put it on top of the Basic White square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so you will cut out one set of two photo corners. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces if needed.
Note: You are using only one of the photo corner cut outs for this project. Keep the other photo corner cut out for use on another project.
Adhere one photo corner cut out to the upper left corner of the stamped and heat embossed Orchid Oasis rectangle.
Adhere the Orchid Oasis rectangle with photo corner attached to the center of the large white rectangle.
Adhere the matted Orchid Oasis rectangle to the front of the card so it is centered top to bottom and about 1/2" from the right edge of the card.
Mount the shorter sentiment of choice from the Sending Smiles Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Orchid Oasis Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the skinny white strip.
Pick out the shorter, skinny label die from the Sending Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the sentiment is centered in the die. Run through the machine.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment strip to the front of the card as shown so the left edge hangs over the left edge of the main image rectangle and is about 1/2" from the left edge of the card and about 3/4" from the bottom edge of the card.
Cut a 9' piece of the Orchid Oasis 1/8" Metallic Woven Ribbon.
Tie a small bow in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Squish up a Mini Glue Dot into a small ball and adhere it to the lower right corner of the main image rectangle. Adhere the ribbon bow to the glue dot.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 1 small and 1 large Orchid Oasis dot from the sheet of 2022-2024 In Color Matte Decorative Dots making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the centers of the flowers as shown.
