Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, designer paper, and Adhesive Sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Summer Splash Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Pretty Peacock Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Basic White Thick Cardstock
- 3" square from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 2-1/4" square from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 1-3/4" square from Pretty Peacock Cardstock
- 1-5/8" square from Adhesive Sheets
- 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" from Soft Sea Foam Cardstock
- 1" x 3-1/4" of light colored wood grain design from Country Woods 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, cut so the grain is horizontal on the horizontal strip
Note: You can use regular Basic White Cardstock if you prefer, but the Thick Cardstock holds up better to getting wet.
DO THE STEPS IN THE ORDER INDICATED!
Insert the Basic White Thick rectangle into the So Swirly Embossing Folder. Use the line printed on the front flap of the folder to make sure it is lined up straight. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Tip: Be careful, this embossing folder is very large and barely fits through the machine. Make sure none of the folder is hanging over the edge of the platform or it will get caught and will mess up the folder and/or your machine.
Place the dry embossed Basic White Thick rectangle horizontally on a pad of paper towels to protect your work surface. Make sure noting is nearby that you don't want to get ink on.
Put 5 or 6 drops of Pretty Peacock Ink Refill into an empty Stampin' Spritzer. Fill the rest of the spritzer up with 1/2 water and 1/2 rubbing alcohol. Give it a good shake to mix the color into the water/alcohol mix.
Spritz the Pretty Peacock ink/alcohol mix across the left and bottom of the horizontal white rectangle. Leave most of the rest of the rectangle light or white.
Put 5 or 6 drops of Summer Splash Ink Refill into an empty Stampin' Spritzer. Fill the rest of the spritzer up with 1/2 water and 1/2 rubbing alcohol. Give it a good shake to mix the color into the water/alcohol mix.
Spritz the Summer Splash ink/alcohol mix across the center and bottom of the horizontal white rectangle and about 1/3" of the way up the right edge. Leave most of the rest of the rectangle light or white. Let the two blue/green colors merge together.
Set the spritzed rectangle aside to dry.
Unlock the Happy Labels Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the Country Woods Designer Paper strip into the right side of the punch (the side of the punch with the smaller scallops) as far as it will go and get it centered. Punch.
As you are ready to stamp using the Seaside Wishes Set, place the cardstock or designer paper on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "your friendship is the best gift" sentiment from the Seaside Wishes Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Summer Splash Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the punched designer paper strip so it is close to the right edge with the punched edge on the right.
Mount the large sand dollar image from the Seaside Wishes Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Crumb Cake Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the large Crumb Cake square.
Pick out the matching set of 3 sand dollars die from the Seaside Wishes Hybrid products. Put it inside the Embossing Folder from the Seaside Wishes Hybrid products so it fits into the grooves around the corresponding sand dollars cut into the inside of the top flap (the one with the line and logo printed on it) of the Embossing Folder. Place the stamped large sand dollar into the layered dies/embossing folder so it is centered in the large cutting/embossing area. Close the folder and put it on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. This will cut out and emboss the sand dollar image at the same time. Leave the die and embossing folder out.
Mount the small sand dollar image from the Seaside Wishes Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Crumb Cake Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the small Crumb Cake square.
Place the stamped small sand dollar into the layered dies/embossing folder so it is centered in the small cutting/embossing area. Close the folder and put it on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. This will cut out and emboss the sand dollar image at the same time.
Peel the protective backing off of the Adhesive Sheets square. Adhere the Adhesive Sheets square to one side of the small Pretty Peacock square. Be sure to leave the other protective backing in place for now.
Pick out the smaller, very detailed circle die from the dies included in the Seaside Wishes Hybrid products. Put it on top of the Pretty Peacock square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the Pretty Peacock (blue/green) side is face up. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Pick out all three of the seaweed fronds dies from the dies included in the Seaside Wishes Hybrid products. Put them on top of the Soft Sea Foam rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
If the spritzed rectangle is dry, proceed with the next step. You can speed up drying using a Heat Tool if desired.
Adhere the spritzed rectangle to the center of the Pretty Peacock rectangle and then to the front of the Summer Splash card. Make sure the darker area is on the left side.
Adhere the stamped sentiment strip punch out to the front of the card so it is about 1/2" from the bottom and right edges.
Loop some Linen Thread around 3-4 fingers a few time and then cut it loose from the spool.
Put Stampin' Seal on the back of the large sand dollar cut out. Adhere the loops of Linen Thread to the back of the sand dollar cut out.
Adhere the large sand dollar cut out with Linen Thread attached to the front of the card as shown so it overlaps the upper left side of the sentiment strip a bit and is about 3/4" from the left side of the card and about 5/8" from the top of the card.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the three seaweed fronds to the front of the card as shown.
Peel the protective backing off the detailed Pretty Peacock circle cut out to adhere it to the card front as shown.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the small sand dollar cut out to the front of the card as shown so it overlaps all the other pieces a bit.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 1 large and 2 small pearls from a sheet of Flat Adhesive-Backed Pearls making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the front of the card as shown.
