P retty sympathy card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Lost Lagoon Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 2" x 3-1/2" from Lost Lagoon Cardstock
- 2" x 3" from Old Olive Cardstock
- 2-3/4" square from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 1" x 1-1/4" from Smoky Slate Cardstock
Insert the Crumb Cake rectangle into the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Mount the sand speckles image from the Seaside Bay Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Crumb Cake Ink Pad. Stamp it randomly all over the bottom of the horizontal, dry embossed Crumb Cake rectangle. Let some of the images overlap. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time.
Adhere the stamped, dry embossed Crumb Cake rectangle to the front of the Lost Lagoon card.
Mount the "thank you" or "sympathy" sentiment from the Seaside Bay Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Lost Lagoon Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the horizontal Lost Lagoon rectangle.
Pick out the label die from the Something Fancy Dies that cuts out a label that is 1-5/8" x 2-3/4" with squared off ends. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the sentiment is centered top to bottom and slightly closer to the right side. Run through the machine.
Cut a 1-1/2" piece of the burlap ribbon from the Real Red & Burlap Ribbon Combo Pack so it has a sharp angle on one end.
Use a bit of Tear & Tape Adhesive to adhere the ribbon to the back of the sentiment label cut out so the angled end sticks out to the right side by about 1".
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the sentiment label cut out. Adhere it to the front of the card so it is about 3/4" from the bottom edge and the left edge is about 1-3/8" from the left edge.
Pick out the large clump of grass die and the small clump of grass die from the Seaside Bay Dies. Put them on top of the Old Olive rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine leaving room to cut out a second small clump. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the machine. Use the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces as needed. Put the small clump of grass die back on top of the Old Olive rectangle and run through the machine again to cut out a second small clump of grass.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the clumps of grass to the front of the card as shown. The small clump of grass on the right should be stuck under the right edge of the sentiment label cut out and ribbon. The large and small clumps of grass on the left should be low enough that the sandpiper will cover the bottom edges.
Mount the large, single sandpiper bird image from the Seaside Bay Set on Block D Ink it up with the Crumb Cake Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Very Vanilla square.
Pick out the matching large, single sandpiper bird die from the Seaside Bay Dies. Put it on top of the stamped image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Squeeze the lid of the Smoky Slate Ink Pad to get ink in the lid. Use the Blender Pen to pick up ink from the pad lid and color in the shaded areas of the bird cut out. Remember to stroke in one direction only or the cardstock will tear and pill up. Scribble on Grid Paper when you are done until no more ink is coming off the Blender Pen.
Squeeze the lid of the Crumb Cake Ink Pad to get ink in the lid. Use the Blender Pen to pick up ink from the pad lid and color in the beak and eye of the bird cut out. Remember to stroke in one direction only or the cardstock will tear and pill up. Scribble on Grid Paper when you are done until no more ink is coming off the Blender Pen.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the colored bird cut out to the front of the card as shown so it overlaps the left end of the sentiment label cut out and covers the bottoms of the grass clump cut outs on the left side of the card.
Pick out one of the small scallop shell dies from the Seaside Bay Dies. Put it on top of the Smoky Slate rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Use the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces as needed.
Use a Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the scallop shell cut out to the front of the card as shown so it covers the lower right corner of the sentiment label cut out.
