O
K, I admit it, when I saw this bundle with the little pearl gems... I simply had to play with it!
I love the colors, they were so easy to work with. The Book Fold card is easy to do and adds just a little something to the basic card.
Project Recipe
Measurements
4 1/4" x 11" Balmy Blue Cardstock (CS) (Scored on the long side at 4 1/2" and 5 1/2")
4" x 4 1/4" White CS (Cut 2)
1" x 4" Brown CS
3" x 4" By the Bay Designer Series Paper (DSP)
Scrap paper/CS for die cuts
Cut and Score all pieces. Burnish well on score lines.
Mount background on front of card. The front of the card has the 1" border on the left.
* Mount the DSP on the top of White CS leaving a boarder all the way around. This will become the water in your ocean.
* Using the die, cut the brown CS to form a sand dune.
* Mount the "sand" to the bottom of the white matt.
Inside the card.
Mount the white CS inside the card so you have a place to write.
* Note if you wish to have a sentiment inside, stamp it prior to mounting the CS.
The ribbon can be done in two ways. I chose to have the ribbon hidden inside the card.
* To run the ribbon like I did, punch two holes in the 1" border. Run the ribbon through the holes and tie in the front of the card.
* To run the ribbon all the way through, punch the holes through both layers of the CS while it is folded in half. Tie the ribbon AFTER you adhere the boarder together.
Using adhesive (I used Tear & Tape) on either side of the ribbon inside the card. Fold the card shut to form the border.
Finish Decorating as desired. I took the following steps.
* Stamp seashells and sand grains
* Cut 9 pieces of seaweed of various sizes and colors. Place as desired.
* Cut the Oyster out of Ivory CS and line it with another die cut from Petal Pink scraps.
*Place the pearl into the oyster.
