Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, designer paper, and Masking Paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Granny Apple Green Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" of thin zigzag lines in green and blue on white background design from Dandy Designs 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper, cut so the lines are horizontal on the vertical rectangle
- 1-1/2" x 4" of blue, green, and light purple dots on white background design from Dandy Designs 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper
- 3-1/4" x 4-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
- 3-1/4" square from Masking Paper
- 1" x 3-1/2" from Granny Apple Green Cardstock
Adhere the strip of dotted Dandy Designs Designer Paper to the center of the vertical zigzag lines Dandy Designs Designer Paper rectangle.
Adhere the layered designer paper rectangle to the front of the Granny Apple Green card.
As you are ready to stamp using the Sea Turtle Set or the Sending Smiles Set, place the cardstock or Masking Paper on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the large sea turtle image from the Sea Turtle Set on Block E so the smooth side of the stamp is face up. Ink it up with the Granny Apple Green Ink Pad. Stamp once on Grid Paper on top of the Stampin' Pierce Mat. WITHOUT RE-INKING, stamp the image on the vertical rectangle of Basic White Cardstock in the lower left corner so you get most of the turtle. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy.
Flip the cleaned large sea turtle image over and mount it on Block E so the bumpy side of the stamp is face up. Ink it up with the Granny Apple Green Ink Pad. Stamp the image over the top of the previously stamped turtle on the vertical white rectangle. Leave the stamp on the block.
Re-ink the large sea turtle image bumpy side up with the Granny Apple Green Ink Pad. Stamp the image on the piece of Masking Paper. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy and put it away.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out the sea turtle image on the Masking Paper by hand.
Carefully remove the backing from the Masking Paper turtle cut out and adhere it over the top of the turtle stamped on the white rectangle.
Mount the large grouping of bubbles image from the Sea Turtle Set on Block I so the smooth side of the stamp is face up. Ink it up with the Coastal Cabana Ink Pad. Stamp once on Grid Paper on top of the Stampin' Pierce Mat. WITHOUT RE-INKING, stamp the image on the turtle stamped white cardstock so you overlap the turtle at the bottom of the cardstock. Repeat several times until you've covered the entire white rectangle. Just remember to re-ink and then stamp off each time. Let some of the images overlap each other and let some go off the edges of the cardstock. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy.
Flip the cleaned bubbles image over and mount it on Block I so the bumpy side of the stamp is face up. Ink it up with the Coastal Cabana Ink Pad. Stamp the image all over the top of the previously stamped rectangle, remembering to re-ink the stamp each time. Let some of the images go off the edges of the cardstock and overlap each other. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy and put it away.
Mount the school of fish image from the Sea Turtle Set on Block G so the bumpy side of the stamp is face up. Ink it up with the Bermuda Bay Ink Pad. Stamp the image several times across the top of the previously stamped cardstock. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Let some of the images go off the left and right edges of the rectangle.
Carefully peel off the Masking Paper sea turtle.
Tip: If you get the Masking Paper sea turtle off in one piece, keep it in the case with the stamp set to use on future projects.
If needed, use the fine tip of the Coastal Cabana Stampin' Write Marker to color in any white space left around the edges of the turtle image.
Pick out the die that cuts out a 3" x 4-3/8" stitched rectangle from the Stitched Rectangle Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sea turtle/bubbles/fish rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Adhere the sea turtle/bubbles/fish rectangle cut out to the front of the card so it is centered.
Mount the short sentiment of choice from the Sending Smiles Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Bermuda Bay Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the small strip of Granny Apple Green cardstock.
Pick out the die that cuts out a 1/2" x 2-1/2" stitched rectangle from the Stitched Rectangle Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the sentiment is centered in the die. Run through the machine.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment rectangle cut out to the front of the card so it overlaps the right side of the sea turtle/bubbles/fish rectangle cut out by about 1/4" and is about 1-1/4" from the top of the card.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up three small Balmy Blue gems from the sheet of Iridescent Pastel Gems making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the card front as shown somewhere on the sea turtle/bubbles/fish rectangle cut out.
