Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and Masking Paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Night Of Navy Cardstock at 4-1/4" x 11" and scored at 5-1/2" x 6-3/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 4-1/8" square from Pool Party Cardstock
- 1-1/8" x 4-1/4" from Pool Party Cardstock
- 4 squares each 2-1/4" square from Basic White Cardstock
- 2" x 3-1/2" from Masking Paper
- 3/4" x 2-1/4" from Pool Party Cardstock
- 1-1/4" square from Basic White Cardstock
Fold the Night Of Navy card on both score lines so the 5-1/2" fold is a mountain fold and the 6-3/4" fold is a valley fold.
As you are ready to stamp using the Sea Turtle Set or the Whale Done Set, place the cardstock or Masking Paper on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the large sea turtle image from the Sea Turtle Set on Block E so the smooth side of the stamp is face up. Ink it up with the Old Olive Ink Pad. Stamp once on Grid Paper on top of the Stampin' Pierce Mat. WITHOUT RE-INKING, stamp the image on the horizontal 4" x 5-1/4" white rectangle in the lower right corner so you get the top of the turtle. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy.
Flip the cleaned large sea turtle image over and mount it on Block E so the bumpy side of the stamp is face up. Ink it up with the Old Olive Ink Pad. Stamp the image over the top of the previously stamped turtle on the horizontal white rectangle.
Adhere the stamped white rectangle to the inside flap of the Night Of Navy card so the turtle is in the lower right corner. Make sure the 6-3/4" fold/score line is on the top flap of the card.
Insert the 1-1/8" x 4-1/8" Pool Party rectangle into the dotted embossing folder from the Basic 3D Embossing Folders. Use the line printed on the front flap of the folder to make sure it is lined up straight. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Cut a 5" piece of the Night Of Navy 3/8" Bordered Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the center of the vertical, dry embossed Pool Party strip. Fold the ends of the ribbon over and secure the ends of the ribbon in place with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape strips and add Stampin' Seal to the back of dry embossed Pool Party strip. Adhere it to the thin section on the front of the Night Of Navy card between the score lines.
Put Tear & Tape strips on the inside of the Night Of Navy card vertically down the thin section between the fold/score lines on the top flap. Remove the protective backings and adhere the card together on the left side.
Adhere the large Pool Party square to the front flap of the card that opens.
Mount the small sea turtle image from the Sea Turtle Set on Block C so the smooth side of the stamp is face up. Ink it up with the Old Olive Ink Pad. Stamp once on Grid Paper on top of the Stampin' Pierce Mat. WITHOUT RE-INKING, stamp the image in the center of one of the white squares at a slight angle. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy.
Flip the cleaned small sea turtle image over and mount it on Block C so the bumpy side of the stamp is face up. Ink it up with the Old Olive Ink Pad. Stamp the image over the top of the previously stamped turtle on the white square. Leave the stamp on the block.
Re-ink the small sea turtle image bumpy side up with the Old Olive Ink Pad. Stamp the image on one end of the piece of Masking Paper. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy and put it away.
Mount the large sea star/starfish image from the Sea Turtle Set on Block B so the smooth side of the stamp is face up. Ink it up with the Night Of Navy Ink Pad. Stamp once on Grid Paper on top of the Stampin' Pierce Mat. WITHOUT RE-INKING, stamp the image on a second white square slightly closer to the top right corner at a slight angle (be sure to leave room to cut it out). Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy.
Flip the cleaned large sea star/starfish image over and mount it on Block B so the bumpy side of the stamp is face up. Ink it up with the Night Of Navy Ink Pad. Stamp the image over the top of the previously stamped sea star/starfish on the white square. Leave the stamp on the block.
Re-ink the large sea star/starfish image bumpy side up with the Night Of Navy Ink Pad. Stamp the image on the other end of the piece of Masking Paper. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy and put it away.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out the small sea turtle and large sea star/starfish images on the Masking Paper by hand.
Carefully remove the backing from the Masking Paper small turtle cut out and adhere it over the top of the small turtle stamped on the white square. Carefully remove the backing from the Masking Paper large sea star/starfish cut out and adhere it over the top of the large sea star/starfish stamped on the white square.
Mount the large grouping of bubbles image from the Sea Turtle Set on Block I so the bumpy side of the stamp is face up. Ink it up with the Pool Party Ink Pad. Stamp the image all over the small turtle and large sea star/starfish stamped white squares until you've covered the entire squares in bubbles. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Let some of the images overlap each other and let some go off the edges of the cardstock. Leave the stamp on the block.
Carefully peel off the Masking Paper small sea turtle and large sea star/starfish.
Tip: If you get the Masking Paper images off in one piece, keep them in the case with the stamp set to use on future projects.
Re-ink the large grouping of bubbles image on Block I (bumpy side up) with the Pool Party Ink Pad. Stamp once on Grid Paper on top of the Stampin' Pierce Mat. WITHOUT RE-INKING, stamp the image all over the remaining two white squares until you've covered the entire squares in bubbles. Just remember to re-ink and then stamp off each time. Let some of the images overlap each other and let some go off the edges of the cardstock.
Mount the seaweed image from the Sea Turtle Set on Block B so the bumpy side of the stamp is face up. Ink it up with the Old Olive Ink Pad. Stamp the image two times in the lower right corner of one of the previously stamped light bubbles squares. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Let some of the images go off the bottom edge of the square.
Re-ink the seaweed image on Block B (bumpy side up) with the Old Olive Ink Pad. Stamp the image two times in the lower left corner of the other previously stamped light bubbles squares. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Let some of the images go off the bottom edge of the square.
Mount the school of fish image from the Sea Turtle Set on Block G so the bumpy side of the stamp is face up. Ink it up with the Night Of Navy Ink Pad. Stamp the image two times in the upper left corner of the previously stamped light bubbles square with the seaweed in the lower right corner. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Let some of the images go off the left edge of the square.
Mount the sand dollar image from the Sea Turtle Set on Block A so the bumpy side of the stamp is face up. Ink it up with the Night Of Navy Ink Pad. Stamp the image in the lower right corner of the previously stamped light bubbles square with the seaweed in the lower left corner.
Pick out the stitched square die from the Stylish Shapes Dies that cuts out a square that is 1-15/16" wide. Put it on top of one of the stamped squares on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the images. Run through the machine. Repeat with the other three stamped squares. Just make sure the large sea star/starfish image is closer to the top right corner of its square.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the square cut outs on the card front on top of the large Pool Party square to figure out spacing and layout. When happy, adhere the squares in place one at a time.
Mount the small sea star/starfish image from the Sea Turtle Set on Block A so the smooth side of the stamp is face up. Ink it up with the Old Olive Ink Pad. Stamp once on Grid Paper on top of the Stampin' Pierce Mat. WITHOUT RE-INKING, stamp the image on the small white square. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy.
Flip the cleaned small sea star/starfish image over and mount it on Block A so the bumpy side of the stamp is face up. Ink it up with the Old Olive Ink Pad. Stamp the image over the top of the previously stamped small sea star/starfish on the small white square.
Cut out the small sea star/starfish image on the small white square by hand using Paper Snips Scissors.
Use a Mini Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the cut out small sea star/starfish to the front of the card so it is on the black with the large sea star/starfish and overlaps it slightly.
Unlock the Happy Labels Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the remaining, thin Pool Party strip into the left side of the punch (the side of the punch with the small, rounded scallops) as far as it will go and get it centered. Punch. Repeat with the other end.
Mount the "hoping all your birthday fishes come true" sentiment from the Whale Done Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Night Of Navy Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the punched Pool Party strip.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the stamped sentiment punch out to the front of the card so it is centered over the squares as shown.
Cut a 4" piece of the Night Of Navy 3/8" Bordered Ribbon.
Slide one end of the ribbon under the ribbon already on the card front. Tie in place with a half knot. Trim the ends.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up different colors and shapes from a sheet of Faux Sea Glass Shapes making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the bottom of the seaweed stamped squares around the seaweed and sand dollar.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up one large Night Of Navy gem from a sheet of Solid Faceted Gems making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the top right corner of the sentiment punch out.
