M asculine fun fold card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Night Of Navy Cardstock at 4-1/4" x 7-3/4" and scored at 2-1/4"
- 2" x 4" from Misty Moonlight Cardstock
- 3-1/8" square from Night Of Navy Cardstock
- 3" square from Misty Moonlight Cardstock
- 3" square from Basic White Cardstock
- 3" square from Night Of Navy Cardstock, cut in half on a diagonal
- 3" square of cloudy blue design from Beauty Of The Earth 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, cut in half on a diagonal
- 2-1/4" x 4-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
Fold the card on the score line so you have a 2-1/4" flap on the left side of the card.
Mount the sentiment of choice from the Sailing Home Set on an appropriate size block. Ink it up with the Misty Moonlight Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 3" white square.
Adhere the stamped white square to the inside back flap of the card so it is 5/8" from the top and 1-1/4" from the fold line on the left side.
If you haven't already done so, cut the 3" square of Night Of Navy and the 3" square of Beauty Of The Earth Designer Paper in half on a diagonal by lining up to points of the square on the cutting line of the Paper Trimmer and then cutting. You are using one triangle of each for this card. Keep the other triangles as scraps to use on future projects.
Mount the set of three flying birds image from the Sailing Home Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Night Of Navy Ink Pad. Stamp the birds in the upper right corner of the designer paper triangle.
Adhere the stamped designer paper triangle to the Night Of Navy triangle so all the edges line up.
Put a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive along both short edges of the back of the Night Of Navy triangle. Remove the protective backings and adhere the triangle to the upper right corner of the inside back of the card. Make sure there is NO adhesive along the long edge of the triangle or you won't be able to tuck the front of the card in to close it.
Mount the knotted rope image from the Sailing Home Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Night Of Navy Ink Pad. Stamp it once along the left edge of the vertical Misty Moonlight rectangle so the ends of the rope go off the top edge. Re-ink the stamp and stamp it again just below the first image. Try to get the ends of the rope to match up, if they don't match up, that's okay though, you will be covering up the gap later. Re-ink the stamp and stamp it again just to the right of the first stamped image, letting the ends of the rope go off the top edge. Re-ink the stamp and stamp it one more time just below the last image, trying to match up the ends of the rope.
Adhere the knotted rope stamped Misty Moonlight rectangle to the front small flap of the card.
Insert the Misty Moonlight square into the Bark 3D Embossing Folder. Use the line printed on the front flap of the folder to make sure it is lined up straight. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Adhere the dry embossed Misty Moonlight rectangle to the center of the 3-1/8" Night Of Navy rectangle.
Making sure that the lines of the dry embossing are horizontal, turn the matted squares upside down. Put two strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive along the right side of the back of the squares making sure they don't go past 3/4" in from the right edge.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape and adhere the matted squares to the front of the small flap on the right edge. Make sure no adhesive goes over the edge of the flap or your card will be stuck shut. Make sure the white square on the inside is completely covered.
Mount the large sailboat image from the Sailing Home Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Night Of Navy Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the vertical white rectangle. Leave room to cut it out and room to stamp the small sailboat.
Mount the small sailboat image from the Sailing Home Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Misty Moonlight Ink Pad. Stamp it on the other end of the vertical white rectangle. Leave room to cut it out
Pick out the matching large and small sailboat dies from the Smooth Sailing Dies. Put them on top of the stamped sailboat images on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the images are centered in the dies. Make sure the dies do not overlap. Run through the machine.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the sailboat cut outs on the front of the dry embossed square on the front of the card to figure out placement. When happy with the placement, adhere the smaller sailboat using Stampin' Seal and the larger sailboat overlapping it a bit using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.
Peel the protective backing off of the Adhesive Sheets rectangle. Adhere the Adhesive Sheets rectangle to one side of the small Night Of Navy rectangle. Be sure to leave the other protective backing in place for now.
Tip: Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick tool to help peel up the protective backing if needed.
Pick out the knotted rope die from the Smooth Sailing Dies. Put it on top of the Night Of Navy rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the Night Of Navy (b lue) side is face up. Run through the machine. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Carefully remove the protective backing from the knotted rope cut out. Adhere it to the left edge of the small front flap so it covers the ends of the two stamped knotted rope images, especially if there is a gap.
To keep the card closed, tuck the upper right corner of the matted center squares under the open edge of the designer paper triangle in the upper right corner.
