A masculine birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Pacific Point Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Blueberry Bushel Cardstock
- 3-3/4" x 5" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2" x 2-1/2" from Balmy Blue Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 2-1/4" from Pacific Point Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 2-1/4" from Blueberry Bushel Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 3-1/4" from Balmy Blue Cardstock
Place the white rectangle on some Grid Paper. One at a time, open the ink pads and drag the edges across the white rectangle horizontally multiple times until you have mostly covered the rectangle with stripes of the three different colors of blue. Leave a few areas white.
Insert the blue striped rectangle into the Swirls & Curls Embossing Folder. Use the line drawn on the front of the folder to help you line the cardstock up straight. Place the folder with the paper inside on your die cutting and embossing tool and run through the machine.
Adhere the dry embossed, blue striped rectangle to the center of the large Blueberry Bushel rectangle and then to the front of the Pacific Point card.
Mount the large sailboat image from the Sailing Home Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Pacific Point Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 2" x 2-1/2" rectangle of Balmy Blue.
Pick out the large sailboat die from the Smooth Sailing Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sailboat on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the boat is centered in the die. Run through the tool.
Mount the small sailboat image from the Sailing Home Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Blueberry Bushel Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 1-1/2" x 2-1/4" rectangle of Pacific Point.
Pick out the small sailboat die from the Smooth Sailing Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sailboat on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the boat is centered in the die. Run through the tool.
Pick out the label die from the Smooth Sailing Dies. Put it on top of the 1-3/4" x 2-1/4" Blueberry Bushel rectangle on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the two sailboat cut outs and the label cut out on the left side of the card front to figure out the spacing and placement.
One at a time, adhere the sailboat cut outs and label cut out in place using SNAIL Adhesive.
Mount the compass image from the Sailing Home Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Pacific Point Ink Pad. Stamp onto Grid Paper a couple of times and then, without re-inking, stamp it in the center of one end of the 1-3/4" x 3-1/4" strip of Balmy Blue.
Mount the "It's your day!" sentiment from the A Good Man Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Blueberry Bushel Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the compass image.
Unlock the 1-1/2" Circle Punch. Hold the punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the stamped compass image into the punch, get it centered in the punching area, and punch.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the compass sentiment circle punch out to the center of the label cut out.
Cut an 8" piece of Whisper White Solid Baker's Twine. Fold the twine in half.
Pick out an anchor trinket from the Sail Away Trinkets.
Slide the folded twine through the loop at the top of the anchor trinket. Get it centered and tie it in place using a knot. Trim the ends.
Use Mini Glue Dots to adhere the anchor trinket with twine attached to the front of the card at a slight angle so it is on the lower right side of the label cut out.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a large Blueberry Bushel rhinestone from the sheet of Noble Peacock Rhinestones making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the upper right corner of the card.
