Project Recipe
Cut Whisper White Thick card stock 8.5 x 5.5, score at 4.25, fold and burnish for a standard A2 side fold card.
To Mask Off for inking:
Cut a piece of copy paper 1" wide by 5.5 " long, attach it to card front matching the left edge to the left edge or folded edge of the card front. using Tombow Repositional Adhesive.
Cut a second piece of copy paper 1.5 x 5.5 and attach it to the card front with Tombow Repostional adhesive lining it up to the right edge or the open edge of the card front.
These mask off the area you will be sponging with color.
Use Stampin' Sponges to add color. I started at the top with Pineapple Punch, then Grapefruit Grove, Lovely Lipstick and lastly Blackberry Bliss. Overlap the colors slightly for a more gradiated look. (There are several versions of this technique out there. One of them used the sponge brayers. I experimented with those and did not like the look as well as I did with the sponges)
Use the Spritzer to spritz a bit of water over the inked area. Not too much just enough to leave a few splotches.
Once this is done carefully remove the masks.
Stamp the tree and the sentiment from Rooted in Nature stamp set with Tuxedo Black Momento ink pad.
The original card that I case'd used the Faceted Dots found on page 197 in the catalog. I did not have those so I improvised.
I cut a 1.5" square of copy paper and punched a 1/8" hole in it with the discontinued hole punch.
I used this as a mask and inked through the hole with a dauber and Momento ink.
To get the larger black dots I used an eraser from one of my mechanical pencils and Momento ink.
It worked perfectly.
