Project Recipe
Gather materials:
1) pool noodles (each noodle makes 4 rockets)
2) craft foam (for fins)
3) large rubber bands
4) box cutter (ADULT USE)
5) 1/4" dowel rods (need 2" length for each craft)
6) Aleene's craft glue
7) hula hoops
Cut pool noodles in to 4 equal pieces.
Trace and cut three 3 rocket fins from craft foam.
ADULT STEP: On one end of the pool noodle, use a box cutter to cut three lines (the length of your rocket fins).
Insert tip of Aleene's glue into each cut on pool noodle and run a thin bead of glue the entire length of the cut.
Add your fins in to cut slots on pool noodle.
Cut dowel rods to 2" in length. On the opposite end of the fins, insert dowel rod through pool noodle...about an inch and a half from the top. Half-way through, drop the large rubber band in to the center of the pool noodle and slide dowel through rubber band. Continue to push dowel rod in until it is completely inserted. OPTIONAL: Add a drop of glue to hold dowel rod in.
While the glue is drying, set up hula hoops to try to shoot the rocket through. Each hula hoop can have its own points value.
