S imple, pretty card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Flirty Flamingo Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Pool Party Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2" x 3" from Mango Melody Cardstock
- 2" x 3" from Whisper White Cardstock
Fill a spray bottle with water.
Tip: An old Stampin' Mist bottle works great.
Lightly spray the large white rectangle all over with water. Then, insert it into the Lovely Floral Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder so the top of the floral image is about 1/2" from the top of the cardstock.
Place the folder with the card stock inside directly on your Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place a Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot. Set the cardstock aside for a few minutes to let it dry completely.
VERY IMPORTANT: You are using only ONE Cutting Pad. If you try to use two, the sandwich will be too thick and you could damage the Big Shot.
Tip: Spraying the cardstock with water before dry embossing it helps to prevent little cracking lines around the edges of the dry embossed image.
Choose a sentiment from the Ribbon of Courage Set and mount it on Block B. Ink it up with the Flirty Flamingo Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the white strip.
Unlock the 1-1/2" Circle Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped sentiment into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Note: If you chose to use the "faith" sentiment, you will punch off some of the curlicues on both sides of the word "faith."
Unlock the 1-3/4" Circle Punch. Slide the strip of Mango Melody Cardstock into the punch. Punch.
Adhere the sentiment circle to the center of the Mango Melody circle.
Rub a Sponge Dauber across the open Mango Melody Ink Pad to get it inky. Then, rub off some of the color on Grid Paper. VERY lightly rub the inky dauber across the dry embossed floral image over the center of the large flower and the tiny flowers off to the sides. Get more ink on the dauber as needed, but make sure it isn't too dark.
Tip: I just clean my Sponge Daubers when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Rub a different Sponge Dauber across the open Flirty Flamingo Ink Pad to get it inky. Then, rub off some of the color on Grid Paper. VERY lightly rub the inky dauber across the dry embossed floral image over the petals of the large flower and the petals of the two larger half flowers on the right side. Get more ink on the dauber as needed, but make sure it isn't too dark.

Rub a different Sponge Dauber across the open Pool Party Ink Pad to get it inky. Then, rub off some of the color on Grid Paper. VERY lightly rub the inky dauber across the dry embossed floral image over the spiky flower on the right side. Get more ink on the dauber as needed, but make sure it isn't too dark.

Rub a different Sponge Dauber across the open Shaded Spruce Ink Pad to get it inky. Then, rub off some of the color on Grid Paper. VERY lightly rub the inky dauber across the dry embossed floral image over the leaves and stems. Get more ink on the dauber as needed, but make sure it isn't too dark.

Adhere the dry embossed and sponged white layer to the Pool Party rectangle and then to the front of the Flirty Flamingo card.
Carefully peel up a large hexagon rhinestone from a sheet of Petal Pink Rhinestone Gems making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the center of the large flower image.
Cut a 3-1/4" inch piece of Pool Party 3/8" Shimmer Ribbon and 2 pieces each 3-1/4" of Shaded Spruce 1/8" ribbon from the Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack. Make sure all ends are cut a sharp angles.
Lay the piece of Pool Party ribbon on the bottom right of the dry embossed image at a slight angle. Then, lay the two pieces of Shaded Spruce ribbon on top of it at slight angles. When happy with the way the ribbon looks, secure it in place with a small piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive across the centers of the ribbons. LEAVE the protective backing in place.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the matted sentiment circles to the front of the card so they cover the Tear & Tape holding the ribbons in place.
