T his is a simple card with an advanced technique called Mirror Image stamping. With these step by step instructions, I hope you find it easy to do.
Project Recipe
Measurements of Materials
CS 5 ½” x 8 1/2” Early Espresso (Scored at 4 1/4”)
5 ¼” x 4” Early Espresso
5 ¼” x 4” Sahara Sand
Scraps of White
DSP 3/4” x 5” In Good Taste (Cut 2)
Cut and Score all pieces. Burnish well on score lines.
• Stamp the sentiment onto the Sahara Sand CS and mount into the inside of the card base.
• With the embossing folder, emboss the 5 ¼” x 4” Early Espresso CS then adhere to the front of the card base
• Form the DSP into a cross (trim to fit) then adhere with glue, then wrap intersection with twine.
• Using dimensionals, mount the cross to the front of the card.
• Embellish as desired. I used the gold brushed metallic dots.
• To make the doves of peace, use the following instructions.
To make the Doves of Peace using the mirroring technique
o Place a Silicone Craft Sheet on top of the foam pad in your Stamparatus.
o Place the dove stamp in the desired position.
o Using Momento Ink, stamp the dove onto the silicone craft sheet. Reink and restamp if you want a darker outline.
• Carefully drop the scrap of white CS onto the image (be careful not to slide the CS) and stamp on the reverse side to press the image onto the CS.
• When you pick it up, you will have the mirror image of the dove stamp.
• Stamp another dove so that you have one facing each direction.
• Fussy cut the doves out and mount inside the card.
