T his is the 4th project. A box card.
Project Recipe
garden green base is 4 1/4" x 11"
put the short side at the top of your scoring tool and score at 2 3/4" all the way down the paper
turn the paper so the long edge is at the top and score at 1/2, 1 5/8, 5 3/4, 6 7/8"
You will want to cut off the score lines you just did down to the first one. So cut the 1/2" line down to the 2 3/4" line that goes all the way down the paper. Do this for each of them. They will make the flaps for the box. The top of the 1/2 " flap will actually get cut off at the score line. The lower half will fold and adhere to the back of the box to keep it together.
Next fold the flaps down, but only two on the edges and one in the front. One of the larger sections will be the back of the box and doesn't get folded.
Go ahead and adhere your desiger paper to the box before you glue it closed.
You will have the three outside panels that will all be the same pattern. The panel for the outside of the back can have a white piece added to it for writing on.
Flip the paper over and add the little pieces for the flaps and the longer front flap, as well as the pool party for the inside of the back.
You can also stamp your sentiment and layer that on poppy parade. Adhere that to the front flap.
paper sizes:
the inside and back of the box are 4 x 3 7/8"
the flaps are 2 ea of 7/8 x 1 1/4"
one at 3 7/8 x 1 1/4"
sides of the box are 2 ea of 7/8 x 2 1/2"
one at 3 1/8 x 2 1/2"
put adhesive on the 1/2" flap at the end of the cardstock. Fold that on the score line and adhere it to the inside of the back of the box.
Your box should now be formed!!
you need two pieces for the inside of the box.you can use garden green again or white if you'd rather. Either works.
They will measure 4 5/8 x 3/4"
score at 1/4" on each end. This will make a [ shape that will slide down inside the box.
Put adhesive on the outside ends and stick it inside the box. I like to put them so the ends are facing either the front or the back of the box. That lease some good spacing to adhere items inside.
Go ahead and cut some snow from the dies in the set and put some of the snow puff paint on the edges. Glue those onto the pieces inside the box. I also cut some trees and did the puff paint on them. I glued those over on the right side.
Fold your card flat so you can see where you can adhere your goodies inside. You don't want them sticking up too high or you'll need a bigger envelope.
I cut a fox out and tried to trim it up to look more dogish, but that didn't work too well. I also cut out the kid and colored it in with my blends. I took the puff paint and made the apple into a snowball and also put some puff on the fur trim of the jackets hood.
if your pool party piece needs a little something for you, add a few stamped snowflakes or blend some color around in the upper area for some sky effect. I do not recommend using the puff paint for falling snow. It is too unpredictable for me and my snowflakes were not pretty!! LOL.
