Winter Owls Snowy Tree Owls

Supplies needed:

Project Recipe:

1. Cut cardstock, designer paper, and Adhesive Sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
   - card from Basic White Thick Cardstock 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
   - 4-1/4" x 5-1/4" from Balmy Blue Cardstock
   - 1-3/4" x 5-1/4" of white snow dots on blue background design from A Walk In The Forest 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
   - 2" x 4-1/2" from Pecan Pie Cardstock
   - 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
   - 1" x 7" from Pecan Pie Cardstock
   - 7/8" x 6-7/8" from Adhesive Sheets

2. As you are ready to stamp using the Season Of Chic Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.

3. Mount the "thanks" sentiment from the Season Of Chic Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Balmy Blue Ink Pad. Stamp it in the upper right corner of the horizontal Balmy Blue rectangle.

4. Pick out the hollow tree trunk die from the Winter Owls Dies. Put it on top of the large Pecan Pie rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces as needed. KEEP ALL THE PIECES!

5. Mount the sitting owl with no feet and his head on the left side image from the Winter Owls Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Pecan Pie Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the horizontal white strip leaving room to stamp the other owl and cut everything out.

6. Mount the sitting owl with feet and his head on the right side image from the Winter Owls Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Pecan Pie Ink Pad. Stamp it on the white rectangle on the other end leaving room to cut the owls out.

7. Pick out both of the matching sitting owl dies from the Winter Owls Dies. Put them on top of the stamped images on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so they are centered over the stamped images. Do NOT let the dies overlap. Run through the machine.

8. Adhere the sitting owl with no feet cut out to the back of the hollow tree trunk cut out so the owl is peeking through the hole in the trunk.

9. Adhere the tear drop shaped piece of Pecan Pie that was cut from the center of the hollow tree trunk to the back of the owl so it fills in the hollow in the tree trunk.

10. Peel the protective backing off of the Adhesive Sheets rectangle. Adhere the Adhesive Sheets rectangle to one side of the long, skinny Pecan Pie strip. Be sure to leave the other protective backing in place for now.

11. Pick out both detailed, solid branch dies from the Winter Owls Dies. Put them on top of the Pecan Pie strip on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the brown (Pecan Pie) side is face up. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.

12. Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut the end of the long branch off so you have a piece about 1-1/4" long with a sharp angle on one end.

13. WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the hollow tree trunk with bird and hollow filled end and the 3 branch pieces on the stamped blue rectangle to figure out spacing and placement. When happy with the arrangement, adhere everything in place by removing the protective backings from the branch cut outs and using Stampin' Seal.

14. Use Paper Snips Scissors as needed to cut off extra tree trunk bits on the top and bottom edges.

15. Use your fingers to tear along one long edge of the A Walk In The Forest Designer Paper strip.

16. Adhere the torn designer paper strip to the bottom of the stamped blue rectangle with tree trunk and branches attached so it covers the bottom of the tree trunk. Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off any excess designer paper along the bottom edge as needed.

17. Adhere the stamped blue rectangle with tree trunk, branches, and designer paper attached to the front of the Basic White Thick card.

18. Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sitting owl with feet to the front of the card as shown so he overlaps the bottom right side of the tree trunk a bit.

19. Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 3 small and large white sequins from the sheet of Adhesive-Backed Glitter Sequins making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the card front as shown.

20. Use the white Pearlized Enamel Effects Basics to draw snow squiggles on the tree trunk and the branches. Set aside to allow to dry.
