Wild Cats Tunnel Diorama |
F un tunnel card using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Cajun Craze Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Evening Evergreen Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" of multicolored jungle leaves on white background design from In The Wild 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 5-1/4" x 8-1/4" of one of the Cajun Craze designs from In The Wild 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 2 pieces each 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" from Crushed Curry Cardstock
- 2-3/4" x 3-1/4" from Soft Succulent Cardstock
- 1/2" x 3" from Cajun Craze Cardstock
Pick out the die that is 2-3/4" x 3-1/2" from the Layering Diorama Dies. Put it on top of the vertical jungle leaves designer paper rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is in the center of the rectangle and the skinnier end of the die is at the top about 3/4" from the top of the designer paper. Run through the machine.
Note: You are using the large vertical rectangle with the cut out in the center for this project. Save the cut out piece for a future project.
As you are ready to stamp using the Wild Cats Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the large, leafy plant image from the Wild Cats Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Evening Evergreen Ink Pad. Stamp it a couple of times near the center of the Evening Evergreen rectangle so the images will show through at the bottom of the cut out in the center of the designer paper. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Leave the stamp on the block.
Re-ink the large, leafy plant image on Block C with the Evening Evergreen Ink Pad. Stamp it in the bottom right corner of the Soft Succulent vertical rectangle.
Mount the long skinny vine image from the Wild Cats Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Evening Evergreen Ink Pad. Stamp it a few times near the center of the Evening Evergreen rectangle so they will appear to be hanging down from the top of the cut out in the center of the designer paper rectangle. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time.
Use Stampin' Seal around the outside edges of the designer paper with the cut out in the center to adhere the designer paper to the center of the stamped Evening Evergreen rectangle. Don't put adhesive too close to the edges of the cut out since you want to be able to tuck images underneath the edges in later steps.
Adhere the matted designer paper/stamped cardstock to the front of the Cajun Craze card.
Mount the solid sitting cat image from the Wild Cats Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Crushed Curry Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of one of the Crushed Curry rectangles.
Pick out the large, open, sitting cat die from the Big Cats Dies. Put it on top of the stamped cat image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the cat image. Run through the machine.
Mount the cat head with stripes image from the Wild Cats Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Cajun Craze Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the previously stamped cat image lining up the ears and nose.
Mount the cat stripes image from the Wild Cats Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Cajun Craze Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the previously stamped cat image body.
Put adhesive on the back of the stamped cat cut out and adhere it to the front of the card so it is tucked behind the opening in the designer paper on the lower left side.
Unlock the Banners Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the thin Cajun Craze strip into the right side of the punch (the side of the punch with the inward notch) as far as it will go and get it centered. Punch.
Mount the "hello" sentiment from the Wild Cats Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Evening Evergreen Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the punched Cajun Craze strip on the left end with the punched end of the strip on the left.
Use Paper Snips to cut the stamped sentiment strip so it is only about 1-1/4" long.
Adhere the stamped sentiment strip to the front of the card so it overlaps the bottom of the cut out in the designer paper a little bit as shown.
Mount the small grouping of three leaves image from the Wild Cats Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Evening Evergreen Ink Pad. Stamp it just above and slightly to the left of the previously stamped plant image on the Soft Succulent rectangle. Leave room to cut the images out with dies and leave room at the top for the set of three skinny, intertwined leaf fronds die.
Pick out the set of three skinny, intertwined leaf fronds die; the large, leafy plant die; and the set of three small leaves die from the Big Cats Dies. Place the leafy plant die and the three small leaves die on top of the stamped images on the Soft Succulent rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so they are centered over the images. Place the intertwined leaf fronds die at the top of the cardstock rectangle. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the machine. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces as needed.
Put a small amount of adhesive on the ends of the intertwined leaf fronds cut out where they all come together. Adhere them to the front of the card so the ends are tucked under the designer paper at the top of the cut out. Let the vines overhang the top of the tiger cut out's head a bit.
Use a Mini Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the three small leaves cut out to the front of the card so it overlaps the top of the intertwined leaf fronds cut out and the top of the cut out in the designer paper a bit.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the plant cut out to the front of the card so it covers the right end of the sentiment strip and overlaps the bottom of the cut out in the designer paper on the lower right side as shown. The plant should also overlap the lower right side of the tiger cut out a bit.
Fold the remaining piece of In The Wild Designer Paper in half like you are making a card so that the design you want to have showing is face up. Use a Bone Folder to get a sharp crease.
Fold the right edge of the front of the designer paper "card" over so the edge touches the crease in the center of the designer paper. Use a Bone Folder to get a sharp crease.
Fold the left edge of the back of the designer paper "card" over so the edge touches the crease in the center of the designer paper. Use a Bone Folder to get a sharp crease.
When the pattern you want to see is face up, you should have a "W" folded piece of designer paper.
Pick out the die that is 2-3/4" x 3-1/2" from the Layering Diorama Dies again. Put it on top of the flattened out designer paper rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered horizontally over the center crease of the designer paper. Run through the machine.
Note: You are using the large, creased designer paper rectangle with the cut out in the center for this project. Save the cut out piece for a future project.
With the side of the designer paper you want to see facing up, fold the left flap over towards the center (you should see the other side of the designer paper). Put Stampin' Seal along the edges of the flap.
Place the Cajun Craze card open flat on your work surface. Carefully adhere the left flap of the designer paper to the left side of the inside of the card so about 1/8" of Cajun Craze shows on the top, left, and bottom edges.
Fold the right flap of the designer paper rectangle over towards the center (you should see the other side of the designer paper). Put Stampin' Seal along the edges of the flap.
With the Cajun Craze card open flat on your work surface, carefully adhere the right flap of the designer paper to the right side of the inside of the card so about 1/8" of Cajun Craze shows on the top, right, and bottom edges. Keep everything as tight and straight as possible.
Pick out the die that is 1-3/4" x 2-7/8" from the Layering Diorama Dies. Put it on top of the remaining Crushed Curry rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Mount the sentiment of choice from the Wild Cats Set on an appropriate size block. Ink it up with the Evening Evergreen Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the horizontal Crushed Curry diorama cut out.
Place the stamped Crushed Curry diorama cut out on the Paper Trimmer horizontally so it is centered over the cutting/scoring line. Use the light gray scoring blade to score a line down the center of the cut out.
Fold the sentiment cut out in half so the sentiment is hidden. Use a Bone Folder to get a sharp crease.
Put Stampin' Seal all over the back of the sentiment cut out. Adhere the sentiment cut out to the center of the inside of the card so it is centered inside the cut out in the designer paper and the creases in the center of the sentiment cut out and the card line up.
