Wild Cats Jagged Birthday |
F un birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Cajun Craze Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 3-1/4" x 5-1/4" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 5-1/4" of multicolored plants and big cats on vanilla background design from In The Wild 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, cut so the plants and cats are horizontal on the vertical rectangle
- 2-1/4" x 3" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 2-1/4" square from Soft Succulent Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 3" from Cajun Craze Cardstock
Adhere the strip of In The Wild Designer Paper vertically down the right side of the 4" x 5-1/4" vertical vanilla rectangle so the right edge of the designer paper is about 3/4" from the right edge of the cardstock. The top and bottom edges will be even.
Pick out the sharp, zig-zag edge die from the Basic Borders Dies. Put it horizontally on top of the horizontal 3-1/4" x 5-1/4" vanilla rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the zig-zags are pointing down and are about 1-1/4" from the top of the cardstock. Run through the machine. KEEP BOTH PIECES! Leave the die out.
Adhere the larger vanilla rectangle with the zig-zag edges to the left side of the vanilla/designer paper rectangle so the zig-zags just cover the left edge of the designer paper strip. The top and bottom edges should be even.
Adhere the smaller vanilla rectangle with the zig-zag edges to the right side of the vanilla/designer paper rectangle so the zig-zags just cover the right edge of the designer paper strip. The top and bottom edges should be even.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to trim excess vanilla cardstock off on the left and right edges.
Put the sharp, zig-zag edge die horizontally on top of the horizontal Cajun Craze strip on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so you'll just cut off the top edge. Run through the machine. Move the die down so you'll cut off the bottom of the Cajun Craze strip leaving a strip with jagged edges on each side that is about 1" wide.
As you are ready to stamp using the Wild Cats Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "have a Wild birthday" sentiment from the Wild Cats Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Evening Evergreen Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the jagged edge Cajun Craze strip so the right edge of the sentiment is close to the right edge of the strip.
Adhere the jagged sentiment strip to the vanilla/designer paper rectangle so the right edges are even and the bottom of the Cajun Craze strip is about 7/8" from the bottom of the vanilla/designer paper rectangle.
Adhere the layered vanilla/designer paper rectangle with sentiment strip attached to the front of the Cajun Craze card.
Mount the solid sitting cat image from the Wild Cats Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Cajun Craze Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the vertical 2-1/4" x 3" vanilla rectangle.
Pick out the large, open, sitting cat die from the Big Cats Dies. Put it on top of the stamped cat image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the cat image. Run through the machine.
Mount the cat head with stripes image from the Wild Cats Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the previously stamped cat cut out lining up the ears and nose.
Mount the grouping of stripes image from the Wild Cats Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the previously stamped cat cut out on the body.
Adhere the stamped tiger cut out to the front of the card so it overlaps the left side of the designer paper and the sentiment strip a little bit as shown.
Mount the large, leafy plant image from the Wild Cats Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Evening Evergreen Ink Pad. Stamp it on the Soft Succulent square.
Pick out the matching, large, leafy plant die from the Big Cats Dies. Put it on top of the stamped plant image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the image is centered in the die. Run through the machine.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the plant cut out to the front of the card as shown so it covers the bottom of the tiger cut out and the left side of the sentiment strip.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Old Olive/Pretty Peacock 3/8" Reversible Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the front of the card at a slight angle at the base of the plant cut out as shown.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a large Cinnamon Cider gem from a sheet of 2020-2022 In Color Square Gems making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it in the notch of one of the zig-zags in the upper right corner of the card front.
