When is a strawberry a pear? |
|
U se the sweet strawberry bundle to create this fun pear card by simply turning that strawberry over and giving it a new color!
|
|
Cut your card base to standard A2 size (8-1/4 x 5-1/2) scored at 4-1/4. I used Old Olive
Cut additional Old Olive layer at 3-7/8 x 1-7/8
Cut Basic White layer at 4 x 2 to mat behind the above layer.
Cut Basic White at 5-1/4 x 4 for the inside of your card.
Using the Stamp Cut and Emboss machine, cut out the largest of the narrow rectangles (3-7/8 x 1-7/8) in the Rectangle Stitched Dies in Basic White.
Use the vine stamp included in the Sweet Strawberry stamp set to randomly fill the edges of your Old Olive card base and your Old Olive layering piece. I used Mossy Meadow ink, but you could use Old Olive or Versa Mark for a tone on tone color if you wish.
On a scrap piece of Basic White card stock stamp three "strawberries" using either Old Olive or Pear Pizazz ink. These will be punched. Stamp one more on the Basic White card stock that will be the inside layer of your card. I recommend stamping off on your grid paper first to achieve a less intense color.
TIP: To achieve depth and reality, use a sponge dauber to add Daffodil Delight highlights directly to the stamp on top of your Old Olive of Pear Pizazz. You may also add the highlights AFTER stamping if you prefer.
Choose a sentiment to add to one of your pears. I chose the "hello there" stamp included in the Sweet Strawberry set. I stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso ink BEFORE punching. You could also use the same Mossy Meadow ink used for the vines.
Using the Strawberry Builder Punch, punch out all three pears.
Using Tombow Liquid Glue adhere the Basic White layer (4x2) to the stamped Old Olive layer.
Using dimensionals, place all three pears onto the cut and embossed stitched rectangle die.
Draw a brown stem on each pear by using an Early Espresso Stampin' Write Marker.
Using Tombow Liquid glue adhere the die cut shape with your pears to the pieces you adhered earlier.
If you wish, attach a ribbon or twine around your card base and tie to the side.
Using dimensionals, attach your layered pears over the ribbon/twine to hold it in place.
The front is complete!
Using Tombow Liquid glue affix the Basic White card stock you stamped for the inside of your card.
Your card is now COMPLETE! Congratulations!
You now know when a strawberry is a pear!
