Whale Done Birthday Fishes Whale |
P layful birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Just Jade Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Misty Moonlight Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 3/4" x 4" from Just Jade Cardstock
- 1/2" x 4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 3" from Seaside Spray Cardstock
As you are ready to stamp using the Whale Done Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of paper (Grid Paper works great) on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the group of little fish image from the Whale Done Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Just Jade Ink Pad. Stamp it down the right edge of the large Whisper White rectangle multiple times, re-inking the stamp each time. Make sure all the fish are swimming towards the left. Let some of the images go off the right edge. The bottom of the images should be about 1/2" from the bottom of the white rectangle. The top of the images should be about 1-1/2" from the top of the white rectangle. The left side of the images should be about 1-1/2" from the left edge of the white rectangle.
Mount the group of little bubbles image from the Whale Done Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Seaside Spray Ink Pad. Stamp it multiple times all around the previously stamped fish images remembering to re-ink the stamp each time. Let some of the images go off the right edge of the cardstock.
Unlock the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the thin Whisper White strip into the left side of the punch (the side of the punch with the rounder label top) as far as it will go. Punch. Leave the punch unlocked.
Slide one short edge of the thin Just Jade strip into the left side of the unlocked Lovely Labels Pick A Punch (the side of the punch with the rounder label top) as far as it will go. Punch.
Mount the "hoping all your birthday fishes come true" sentiment from the Whale Done Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Misty Moonlight Ink Pad. Stamp the sentiment on the white punched sentiment strip so it is about 1-1/2" from the punched edge with the punched edge on the right side.
Adhere the stamped white sentiment punch strip to the center of the punched Just Jade strip.
Cut a 4" piece of the Misty Moonlight/silver Baker's Twine from the Flowers For Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack.
Wrap the twine around the left edge of the matted sentiment strip a few times just to the left of the sentiment. Secure the ends of the twine to the back of the matted sentiment strips using small pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape and add some Stampin' Seal to the rest of the back of the matted sentiment strips. Adhere the sentiment strips with twine attached to the stamped white rectangle so the punched right edge of the sentiment strips are about 1/4" from the right edge of the white rectangle and the bottom edge of the sentiment strips is about 1-1/4" from the bottom edge of the white rectangle. Trim off excess cardstock on the left edge as needed using Paper Snips.
Adhere the white rectangle to the Misty Moonlight rectangle and then to the front of the Just Jade card.
Mount the whale image from the Whale Done Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Seaside Spray Ink Pad. BEFORE STAMPING, carefully rock the edges ONLY of the whale stamp onto the open Misty Moonlight Ink Pad to get a little darker ink on his edges. Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink and stamp it on one end of the remaining, large white strip.
Unlock the Whale Builder Punch. Hold it upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the stamped whale image into the punch and get it centered in the corresponding punching area. Punch. Leave the punch unlocked.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals and Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the whale punch out to the front of the card so it overlaps the top right edge of the matted sentiment strips.
Slide the strip of Seaside Spray Cardstock into the open Whale Builder Punch and get it situated so you'll punch out the spout droplets. Punch.
Using the Fine-Tip Glue Pen or Multipurpose Liquid Glue, adhere the spout droplet punch outs to the card front so they are over the whale's head.
Use the putty tip of the Take Your Pick Tool to pick out 5 Just Jade, Pool Party, or Pacific Point sequins of different sizes from the Whale Of A Time Sequins. Use the Fine-Tip Glue, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, or Mini Glue Dots to adhere the sequins to the card front as shown.
Use the putty tip of the Take Your Pick Tool to pick out 1 tiny Pacific Point sequin from the Whale Of A Time Sequins. Use the Fine-Tip Glue, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, or Mini Glue Dots to adhere the sequin to the whale punch out over his eye.
Cut an 8" piece of the Misty Moonlight/silver Baker's Twine from the Flowers For Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack.
Tie a small bow in the center of the twine. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the bow to the bottom of the twine wrapped around the sentiment strips at a slight angle.
