Waves of Inspiration Porthole with Pelican |
|
A fun card incorporating ink blending and masking techniques.
Cut Cardstock:
Out of Thick Basic White cut 5 1/2” X 8 1/2”, score at 4 1/4” and fold.
Inside Mat Layer - 4 1/8” x 5 3/8”
Cut 2 - Basic White - 4” x 5 1/2”
Cut inner circle out of Daffodil Delight and rectangle using stitched rectangle- use scraps you have on hand.
Cut Porthole rim out of In Good Taste DSP using layering circle dies.
Cut small circle from Inspiring Canopies out of masking paper. You will also need a Post-It note a little longer than the diameter of the circle cut in step 2.
Put masking paper circle on the circle cut in Step 2. Decide where horizon will be and use post it note to cover the bottom half.
Using Pumpkin Pie ink and sponge dauber, highlight the horizon and working from the sides give the sky some color.
Remove masking paper. Now cover the top half at the horizon with masking tape and blend color onto the bottom, leaving the area for moonlight shining on water.
Pelican is on Stamparatus - stamp in black ink onto the daffodil delight circle. Put the daffodil delight circle onto the Stamparatus and decide placement for pelican. The Pelican is colored with Light Black Blends.
I put a pelican onto the lower corner of the inside white card and stamped.
Stamp the sentiment onto a scrap of Daffodil Delight cardstock cut using stitched rectangle dies.
Use sponge dauber and add ink from the bottom up, darker at the bottom, lighter at the top.
On the second piece of white cardstock, emboss using the Tasteful Textures 3D Embossing Folder.
Adhere to the cardbase using either dimensionals or flat using your favorite adhesive.
Adhere focal piece - circle with Pelican, onto the card a bit higher than center.
Add the wood dsp ring around it - there’s your porthole.
Adhere sentiment to the bottom of the card.
Rivets are actually Black Matte Dots placed at 12, 3, 6 and 9, then another put between each one.
