Waves Of Inspiration Pelican Light

Supplies needed:

Project Recipe:

1. Cut cardstock and specialty paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
   - card from Pacific Point Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
   - 4" x 5-1/4" from Tahitian Tide Cardstock
   - 1-1/2" x 4" from Sahara Sand Cardstock
   - 2" x 5-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
   - 2" x 5-1/4" from Cherry Cobbler Cardstock
   - 1" x 1-1/2" from Distressed Gold 12" x 12" Specialty Paper
   - 1-1/4" x 3-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
   - 1" x 3-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
   - 1" x 3-3/4" from Basic White Cardstock
   -

2. Mount the large wave image from the Waves Of Inspiration Set on Block F. Ink it up with the Pacific Point Ink Pad. Stamp it on the bottom of the vertical Tahitian Tide rectangle so the wave is only about 2" tall and the curl of the wave almost touches the right side of the cardstock.

3. Use your fingers to tear along a long edge of the Sahara Sand rectangle at a downward angle.

4. Adhere the torn Sahara Sand rectangle to the bottom of the stamped Tahitian Tide rectangle so the sloping edge covers the bottom left side of the wave and the top of the torn paper is only about 3/4" tall. Use Paper Snips Scissors to trim off excess Sahara Sand cardstock on the bottom and left edges.

5. Pick out the larger, solid lighthouse die from the Lighthouse Dies. Put it on top of the 2" x 5-1/4" white rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.

6. Use the brush tip of the Crushed Curry Stampin' Write Marker to color in the white lighthouse cut out just above the flared lip to about 1/2" up.

7. Pick out the large, striped lighthouse die from the Lighthouse Dies. Put it on top of the 2" x 5-1/4" Cherry Cobbler rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces as needed.

   Note: The two bottom super-skinny, horizontal lines at the top of the lighthouse do NOT come out!

8. Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off the top of the Cherry Cobbler lighthouse cut out just above the flaring lip.

9. Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the cut down striped Cherry Cobbler lighthouse cut out over the top of the solid, white lighthouse cut out bottom. All the edges should be even.

10. Pick out the small, detailed lighthouse top die from the Lighthouse Dies. Put it on top of the small Distressed Gold Specialty Paper rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces as needed.

    Note: The two bottom super-skinny, horizontal lines at the top of the lighthouse top do NOT come out!

11. Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the distressed gold lighthouse top cut out to the top of the layered white/cherry cobbler lighthouse. All the edges should be even.

12. Mount the pelican on pylons image from the Waves Of Inspiration Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Sahara Sand Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 1-1/4" x 3-1/4" vertical white strip.

13. Pick out the matching pelican on pylons die from the Waves Dies. Put it on top of the stamped pelican on pylons image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.

14. Use the Basic Gray and Early Espresso Watercolor Pencils to color in the pylons and the back of the pelican.

    Use the Daffodil Delight Watercolor Pencil to color in the pelican's beak and legs.

    Use the Early Espresso Watercolor Pencil to color in the rope on the top of the taller pylon.

15. Mount the "happy birthday" sentiment from the Waves Of Inspiration Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Pacific Point Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 1" x 3-1/2" white strip.

16. Pick out the skinnier label die from the Waves Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the sentiment. Run through the machine.

17. Pick out both cloud dies from the Waves Dies. Put them on top of the 1" x 3-3/4" piece of white cardstock on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces if needed.

18. WITHOUT ADHERING anything, lay the lighthouse, pelican on pylons, sentiment label, and clouds on top of the stamped and layered Tahitian Tide/Sahara Sand rectangle as shown to figure out spacing.

19. Mount the tiny flying bird image from the Waves Of Inspiration Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Pacific Point Ink Pad. Stamp it three times around the clouds as shown. Stamp one of the birds without re-inking the stamp.

20. Now adhere all the pieces in place using Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Stampin' Seal for the lighthouse and large cloud.

21. Use Stampin' Dimensionals or Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the small cloud, pelican on pylons, and sentiment label cut outs in place.
