Tunnel Card |
|
T his is a fun card with a surprise inside when opened. There are two layers with cutouts to form a tunnel with a design or sentiment inside the tunnel.
Cover card:
One 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 Solid Color
Score at 4 1/4 just as you would make a card, fold and burnish
Cut 1/2” off the back of the card
Low Box:
One 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 Solid Color
Score at 1/2”, 4 1/4, & 4 3/4, fold and burnish. This paper folds into a low box
Smallest piece:
One 5 1/2 X 4 1/4 - just a tiny bit smaller
Score 1/4 on each side, fold and burnish
Assemble the 3 pieces with the smallest piece placed in the low box and the low box within the cover card to see how
they nest together.
Find 2 1/2” and 3” die circles, square or any nesting design that is about 1/2” difference.
Low box:
3” die cut on large rectangle on side with 1/2” score. Save cutouts as may use them for cover of card.
Stamp a design or put a design paper on rectangle on back piece.
Smallest piece:
2 1/2” die cut on smallest piece by aligning with the 3” die cut.
Place adhesive tape on the length of the 1/4” scored areas
Adhere Right side to inner crease of inner score line of low box and make sure it lies flat.
Again making sure that all pages lie flat, adhere Left side to remaining score line of the low box.
Adhere the non-die cut rectangle onto the back of the cover card.
Adhere the left scored area to the inner lid of the card, again making sure it lies flat.
Decorate the front of card as desired.
Thanks Phyllis Elson for the great idea and directions!
