Thoughtful Blooms Rainbow Flower Happiness |
S pringy birthday card with a surprise when opened using Stampin' Up! products including some that can be earned for FREE during Sale-A-Bration 2020.
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Pineapple Punch Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 2 pieces each 4" x 5-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1" x 5-1/4" of rainbow stripes design from Pleased As Punch Designer Series Paper, cut so the stripes are horizontal on the vertical strip
- 1-1/2" x 5-1/2" from Granny Apple Green Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 7-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock
Mount the "wishing you every happiness...," "thinking of you ...," thank you," or "happy birthday" sentiment from the Peaceful Moments Set on Block B or Block C. Ink it up with the Mango Melody Ink Pad. Stamp it in the lower right corner of one of the large white rectangles.
As you are ready to stamp using the Thoughtful Blooms Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put some paper (Grid Paper works great) on top of the mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the grouping of 4 stems and leaves image from the Thoughtful Blooms Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Granny Apple Green Ink Pad. Stamp it at the bottom of the stamped white rectangle so the leaves get as close as possible to the sentiment without overlapping it. It's okay if some of the image goes off the bottom edge. Re-ink the stamp with the Granny Apple Green Ink Pad and stamp it a couple more times up the white rectangle in roughly the same line. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Rotate the angle of the stamp a bit. Let some of the image go off the top edge.
Mount the really tiny, round flower image from the Thoughtful Blooms Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Petal Pink Ink Pad. Stamp it randomly at the end of some of the stems. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. It's okay if some of the images go off the bottom or top edges.
Tip: Be very, very careful when cleaning this stamp! It is so tiny that it pops off the block very easily and because it is so tiny and clear, it can be very hard to find.
Mount the small, 5-petal flower with an open center image from the Thoughtful Blooms Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Balmy Blue Ink Pad. Stamp it randomly at the end of some of the remaining stems. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. It's okay if some of the images go off the bottom or top edges.
Tip: Be very, very careful when cleaning this stamp! It is so small that it pops off the block very easily and because it is so small and clear, it can be very hard to find.
Adhere the strip of Pleased As Punch Designer Paper down the left side of the stamped white rectangle.
Unlock the Braided Border Punch. Slide one long side of the Granny Apple Green strip into the punch so it butts up against the guide at the back of the punch. Punch. Slide the punched cardstock over a little bit and line up the punched area with the silver design printed on the base of the punch. Punch again. Repeat as necessary until the entire length has been punched.
Use the Fine-Tip Glue Pen or Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the punched Granny Apple Green strip to the stamped white/designer paper rectangle so the left edge of the punched strip hides the seam between the stamped white cardstock and the designer paper. Use Paper Snips to cut off excess punched Granny Apple Green Cardstock on the top and bottom edges.
Adhere the stamped white/designer paper/punched strip rectangle to the front of the Pineapple Punch card.
Unlock the Small Bloom Punch. Hold it upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the right side of the front of the card into the punch and get it lined up just above the stamped sentiment. Punch. Leave the punch unlocked.
Tip: You may have to squeeze hard since you are punching through two layers of cardstock.

Adhere the sentiment stamped white rectangle to the inside of the card.

WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the other six punched out flowers onto the card front so they overlap the punched border some and each other a bit.
